Default Generic Pachinko themes to mod

I have seen numerous posts on how to customize a pachislo machine by changing the reels and the belly glass...but has anyone ever tried to customize a Pachinko?
I would be looking for a very general modern pachinko with simple sounds and no themed video screens for modding.
Can the nails be removed, new custom graphic laid over cell and then the nails be re-inserted?
I think that would make for and interesting project.

Here is a link to a quality customized Neon Evangelion cell with re-worked graphics. The concepts would be the same.

it isnt hard to remove nails just the special pliers make gripping them easyer so as not to damage the chrome and as for the theame you would be better using somthing like a traditional reel machine rather than a video

Any idea where I could find a pair of pliers like that? It would make working on some of my vintage machines a lot easier.

you have a dremel tool right? notch the jaw for the pin size. put it very near the edge so you can reach the close nails. I think if you grind away the side of the tip at a slight angle you could slot the side and make a great pin tool. good for bending as well.

I always thought that if you removed all the plastic and other doo dads just leave the nails on the cell, you could airbrush a new design and the nails would be hidden sort of in the design.

This is my personal opinion, or of the voices in my head, and are not meant to reflect the opinion of this board.

Well being fairly lazy, I could never see myself pulling all those nails.
Unscrewing the doo dads and handing the cell to someone who could airbrush, I could do.
Of course you would have to coat it all with a clear coat or three. Then wax it.

I have a friend that works for a large graphics company and he would be able to print several copies on an adhesive backed sheet using printing materials that would be resistant to a lot of wear from the balls. My thought is to take a machine with very generic beeps and boops, and romove all the nails, lay over the new sheet, and re-insert the nails.

The Vicky Chance looks promising as a candidate, but has anyone ever played one?

I like the airbrush idea but believe the paint would eventually chip off the high traffic areas and make a mess. If you covered the paint with a clear mylar (pinball trick) it would last. I need a graphic that would mesh with the oldies vintage, maybe a car from the era or other era images as well or some thing way off the chain like a pin head looking dude. maybe one with the swedish chef. from the Muppets. NOT.

I thought he put a pair on the auction once?? someone did. I might make a pair as a test, If I get serious about the vintage experiment again. It is here next to me unaware the evils that await it.
