Default Need Help Identifying My Machine

Hi, I just acquired my first Pachinko Machine. After looking on the Web I "believe" it's a Comet II from 1976. But I can't seem to find a picture of one that has the same playfield image as mine. I've attached a couple pics of the machine. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

    to Pachitalk!

What you have there is a 1976 Sanyo Comet II machine. I haven't seen that center before either. However there were dozens of variations and its near impossible to find a machine that matches yours exactly. So odd centers don't really add value unfortunately.

    100 machines and counting...

Thanks to both of you. I checked the date sticker and it says 52. So the math says it's a 1976 as maxfaiman states. As to the playfield pic, I was just curious if it had a name. Looks like maybe a mermaid or something? Next step is to give it a thorough cleaning and get it working. Nice project for some rainy days (if that ever happens here in CA) :>)

Mine is similar with the goofy surfer! :-) she cracks me up. My play field art is different but looks to be the same machine?

Kintarō perhaps? Many centre features are based on Japanese folklore.

Could be based on Kintaro. I did a web search and found "similar" pictures. Or could be a surfer girl :>)

How much do one of these go for? I'd like to look into buying one for myself.

It seems to vary wildly. I got mine(if that's what it is, all mine has in common is the center piece) for 15.00 when I bought a pachislo from the same guy lol. It's all about what your willing to pay

    Oh, no specific reason.

I've only seen a few before and most were in horrible shape. I was curious how much it would cost to restore one...which in turn contributed to my interest in getting one.

Depends on if an amateur or professional pachinko restoration...I bought a 1976 Sankyo that was restored very well (disassembled, cleaned all parts, polished the nails, polished all plastics and chrome, and replaced play field art) for $300; but the guy that did it just does it as a side hobby over the long Wisconsin winters. The professional restorations would likely be a couple hundred dollars more at least.
