Default Next mod - hopper simulator!

Ok, on a request from another user I'm going to attempt to trick the hopper into thinking it's paying out coins so they can set up a pachislo for the kids that doesn't require any tokens, etc.

This also seems like it would be a good replacement if your hopper is busted and the game won't play, or simply to avoid the late night "clang clang" that is bound to annoy significant others. It also might lead to a self-playing machine that could tally it's payouts to verify those cryptic tables - that's one thing *I'm* really interested in.

So first, I need some research - can I pick your brains?
    1) Is the hopper pinout standard? Is the signalling standard?
    2) Anyone happen to know what this signalling is? hehe I know it's the hard part, but it never hurts to ask!

My hopper has an 8-wire connector that plugs into the power supply. Red & white supply the motor, and two, 3 wire optos sense things. When a token is brought around to the front, a little spring-loaded lever winds back and flings it out the slot. Opto 1 (yellow, green, orange) detects that the lever is ready, and opto 2 (brown, green, orange) detects that the lever has cocked back and is about to fling a token.

Seems like the circuit would just wait for the motor supply to be engaged, all the while holding down opto 1's line. When the motor is engaged, it would periodically release opto 1 and pull down opto 2 to simulate the flinging of a token. Seems pretty simple - too bad my scope isn't a storage scope!

    Sounds interesting, good luck.

The only advice I can give is to watch out for those exploding volume sliders.

Look in the eBay thread. Just last night I posed a message about someone selling completely tokenless pachis. Maybe a few pointed questions and you'll figure out how they're doing it.

7 Pachislos, 1 vintage Pachinko; ask about 'em.
