Default WTB: A Vintage Project Machine

    Forum Members:

I've posted a few times in the past, but am more of a casual observer than anything else. I currently own 4 machines, with my pride and joy being a circa 1962 Tokai Bussan single shot.

I work for the US Foreign Service, currently stationed in Afghanistan, but transferring to Iraq in July. Most of our time is confined to compound, so I am looking for a project or two to pick up that I can later have shipped to my post in Iraq that will give me something to work on during my down time.

I'm looking for older, single shot machines. As I said, I'd be interested in at least one, but even two if I can find something unique. And for me that is the key: I've got three 1970s vintage machines, so the 1960s and prior are the ones that really pique my interest. Also, I would like one that has one of those jackpot windows in the lower left part of the machine (I don't have one like that).

And, the older and more unusual the better.

Let me know if you have something you'd be interested in selling. Give me your best price, with the approximate cost of shipping to Brownsville, TX 78521. I won't waste your time with counter-offers - if the offer is fair I'll be happy to pay. I'm more interested in doing something interesting and creative during my downtime.

You can PM here. I'd love to see some photos whenever possible.

    Thanks,

    Mike Pennell

Good luck on your quest. Here is a link to a Nishijin model A. It's a little newer than what you're looking for (early 70's), but it does have that payout window you want. The price is a little high but if the austin area is drivable for a friend or relative in a fuel efficient car, you might come out ahead not having to pay domestic shipping. There really just didn't seem to be anything closer to Brownsville. Hope this helps.

Thanks so much for providing the link. The machine looks good, but my ability to get it is virtually nil.

The Brownsville address is a shipping point that DOS uses. I've actually never been to Brownsville and only use TX as a transit point.

Please keep me posted on anything else of interest that my come up. Mostly, I need someone who is willing to ship (I'll pay!).

Here's a 1960's Sankyo (that will ship to other countries) Looks in decent shape other than water stains on the play field:

Edit: I don't know if it's actually 1960's or not...it may be early 70's since not a single shot.

Ahh. Well if you have some close friends and relatives here in the states, searching craigslist in their area might turn up a machine you want. They could pick it up, ship it to the transit point, and then DOS can get it out to you.

Also, if you find yourself stationed in Japan and get a good government rate on shipping let us know

Machine looks complete. The chrome looks like it would clean up ok but not pristine.

It's dirty, dusty and needs adjustment, a perfect project for someone that enjoys single shots.
