    Default Nishijin A Jackpot Hangup

I recently picked up my first two Pachinko machines. Thanks to the wonderful people and instruction on this site, one is working and I have also cleaned it safely.

Nishijin A #2 works great except the jackpot rocker hangs sometimes. The jackpot pays but the jackpot holder cannot swing down to receive new balls. This might be because the alignment is of or the weighted arm is hanging up. Probably the former. Any ideas? Here is a video of a successful payout and an unsuccessful payout. TIA.

Looks like it is just slow to move, probably requires disassembly and a good clean. No lubrication please, just clean and dry.

I'd say start with cleaning a few parts first. Like Tink said.

Another thing to check is also the angle of the machine. They should be leaning back about 3-5 degrees. If it is more than that it can sometimes cause problems.

Also I'd suggest giving your pachinko balls a quick bath. Fill a tub with warm water and simple green. Then pour the balls in and give them a good shake. Let sit for an hour or two. Drain tub rinse with water. Then dump the balls onto a towel and place another towel on top and rub them mostly dry. Let sit till completely dry (move them around occasionally).

    100 machines and counting...

Thanks everyone. Turns out, the green cover over the swinging arm needed to be pulled out a bit. When I was cleaning the machine, I noticed that the nails were not in all the way, so I tightened them up. Bad idea. The previous owner must have discovered a loose cover is better than a tight cover.

Also, thanks for the tip on cleaning the balls. I soaked them in warm water and laundry soap and then rinsed and dried them well. What a difference!
