    Default 1957 Heiwa Comicgate restore

Here is my finished Comicgate. I really think Heiwa was a little ahead of Nishijin as far as quality parts and mechanics during this year. I like how there is a door above the center feature that allows a ball to enter and then causes the pink ring to spin before providing a payout. As a newbie I had no idea was even a little door until I took it apart.

It is just the same type everyone uses. Controltac with a glossy laminate. Some people like add more layers of plastic like film with an adhesive. I forget the name of it. I personally do NOT like it. I guess if you good at applying it without bubbles. My controltac with glossy laminate will last years and years. Plus I really don't play my machines anyway. I play them to make sure they run 100% and then toss em in the basement never to be seen again.

i'm the same, once they're restored, that 's about it for playing. i steer guests toward my arrangeball machines and while they enjoy them, they can't compare to my EM pinball lineup. those are always being played.
i use duralar adhesive mylar over my new playfields. i just have to go very slow with a straightedge to get it down with no bubbles.

I like how the background gives the illusion of a 3-d playfield
