    Wink Craigslist Find

    You got to love Craigslist.
I saw it, made an offer and it was mine.
Its a Sankyo Stellar Arepachi (I think) that was left behind by the former owner of house in North Jersey. It has a robot theme center feature. The new owner could not get it to run.
A quick look at the back revealed one lead of the power cord was cut.
    More details to follow.

It's hanemono (wing type) - Kage Maru 1 - looks more like a Ninja theme

Although the picture isn't the same, this is the same game

In one of the machines that I got from my Kentucky jaunt last week, there is a ball jam that appears to be twice as bad as yours...unfortunately, I haven't yet figured out how to get to them to relieve the jam...I'll post some pics later; my machine seems to be more modern than yours...more wires and circuitry in the way...I can't figure it out

I'm not addicted to Pachinkos. I can quit at any time. Did I tell you about the three machines that I have on the way?

Yup, I'm kinda stuck myself. The machine is on the bench waiting for a brainstorm. I would rather not completely disassemble it. I can turn it upside down and pour the balls out (I think) but that wont fix the root cause. I guess I am hoping that a flash of insight will guide me.

Looking at the back of your machine, it looks like it's still the old style mechanical payout system. When you turn it on, does the payout motor (the one with the orange label on it) run? If so, open the cover on the payout system (The one above the bell, above the pink label). There are some hooks there at the top that stop the payout system from operating if there aren't enough balls in the system. Hold those out of the way and the system should operate, the jammed balls should start coming out the bottom. If they stop, shake the machine a little to unjam them then move the hooks over and start again. There is a cover that can be opened right where the jam is to relieve some of it, the clip for it is to the right of that left most pile of balls in the jam pic.

Bigdog, what machine has the jam your talking about?

Compirate, THANKS! Yes, the orange motor runs as soon as power is applied. I will give it a try as soon as I reassemble the machine. Here is a photo of where I stopped.

YUP! 20 mins later, and Kage Maru 1 is running as it should. Compirate, it was as you noted, no reward balls. I held the hooks up and the motor cycled and spat each one out, one after the other. Jam cleared. Thanks Compirate

    Smile Re: Craigslist Find

In the home stretch ... I set about un-plugging/re-plugging all connectors. You can see in the second photo set above, that the LED display is not fully lit. After my exercise the LEDs work perfectly. Lots of Windex and 50 paper towels later, Kage Maru 1 looks pretty good. A brief session with my friend cell pica and it looks almost new. This guy came with a single sheet of plexi in the door, soon to be replaced with 2 panes of glass. Add 1000 balls and plug her in.
Game play is different with this wing type (hanemono) machine. Different but fun for sure. The wings only open for a brief time if a ball finds one of the two lower most outer pockets. Get a follow-up ball into the center pocket (between the samurai’s feet) or in the lower most center pocket and the machine gives you a jackpot routine (sort of fever). Tough for sure but not impossible. I played for almost an hour (no jams, operated flawlessly) and got just one jackpot. I think the nails need some adjustment to give better game play.
A surprising bonus came with this machine ... about 200 Unicorn Balls!
I have attached some photos, wings closed, wings open, full front and back.
