Craigslist Pickup Need info on the shooter

Hello all, I just picked up a Nishijin Super DX It's got major spider webs! But hey the price was right...The shooter is a spring? It's catching on the metal part...is there some kind of rubber that goes over the spring? Close up pictures would be appreciated.....thanks. See Pics

There's no rubber, just the spring. It shouldn't be catching on the metal part.

looks like the metal track may be bent up a bit.. try small adjustments see if ya can get it to clear

You may want to give this nail a little tap down, also check the nuts and screws on the back of the shooter to see if there tight. Here is a manual for a model 1200 that has information on how to adjust the shooter.

Something must be bent. The shooter is in a fixed position on the front plywood. That is why the manual posted above suggested hammering the bracket. The track is mounted to the plywood that the cell and nails are attached to. These 2 pieces of plywood are SECURELY NAILED together! I suspect the ball track is bent. Of course it needs a close look at more angles than pics can provide. Tweak and adjust carefully until the spring strikes the center of the ball. With the spring touching the track the way it is...the ball probably jumps up and wont climb the ramp.

Thanks pachiwall, and all the others....I still have yet to fix the ball shooter nothing looks bent and nothing is loose. It actually shoots balls fine, but it has a sticky feel to it due to the contact. I have installed a 9v battery and cleaned as much as I am going to and it works pretty well. All bulbs needed screwing in and appear to work. Here's the lineup....I guess a Nishijin can fit in huh? :-) Actually, I think I like the Nishijin better more lights and the removable plastic ball cover in the back...both my Sankyos have this piece missing. Not really sure what the ball cover even looks like on the Sankyo.
