    Default My new Model C

Just picked this up today for $50. Tried to get him down to $40, but he wasn't going for it, hehehe... Anyway, here are some pics...

It appears to be in pretty good shape overall. There is some rust under the ball tray on the front, not sure how I'll deal with that yet. Also, on the back (in the close-up pic) you can see a curved rod that is attached to the see-saw just dangling down. It's not connected to whatever it's supposed to be connected to, so the see-saw does not return up once the jack-pot pays out. I haven't taken anything apart yet, but can anyone offer any help or hints as to how to fix that, or how simple/difficult it will be?

I haven't worked on a model C before. But for fixing your bent wire you should be able to take two pairs of pliers and bend it back straight just don't bend it too much because it might break.

Yeah, I'm not so much worried about breaking it as I am about not knowing where it goes.

It looks like it is used for reseting the see-saw but i don't really know.

I think I got it. I took off the cover on that side and it looks like it attaches to the underside of the ramp that drops down as the jack-pot balls fall. Tested it a few times and it seems to be working. Now to start disassembling and cleaning...

Sounds like you've got it figured out. Here's what my model C looks like. Picture 1 has the green cover above the seesaw on. Picture 2 has the cover removed and shows how the reset rod is attached. Makes ya wonder why the heck somebody bent that in the first place.

Thanks for the pic Jeff, that's exactly what I found once I took the cover off. I have a feeling the rod got bent somehow while in storage, and since the machine wouldn't pay out the previous owner probably thought it was broken. Too bad for him, but good for me lol...

Here's a pic of the center feature. I just realized a piece of the golfer at the top is broken off, but since I have no idea what it looked like originally, it's not really that noticeable IMO. One thing that's kind of neat is that if you get a ball in the top hole, it spins around the chute in the back (spinning the center golfer) and then dropping down to fall in one of the three lower holes.

In regards to that center feature, are there any tips for how to remove it for cleaning? It's held in by three screws, which are no problem, and two nails, which are. Is there any way to remove the nails without mangling the center feature?

the only luck i have had is to slide a hook tool behind the plastic and slowly work it twards the nails.. take small bits at it and work slow... this has worked several times for me in the past.. but one time the plastic was just to soft and it crumbled...

If the center is in place like the tulips(short nails), then I would try Mopar's method. I removed a tulip on my first model "B" the same way. Just work behind one nail, then the other back and forth until the piece comes off.
