Hopper issue

I just purchased a space invaders machine.
When I put in coins, sometimes they bounce off the metal ramp and down into the bottom of the machine instead of the hopper.
Any insight is appreciated

There are a couple things that could cause this. Can you post a few pictures of the machine and maybe a close up of the coin mechanism track.

you might be missing part of the ramp

I have one machine that if the Hopper is to far back into the machine the coins will sometimes come off of the ramp and go down the overflow ramp of the hopper and down into the bottom of the machine.

If I just pull the Hopper forward a little then all the coins go into the hopper.

Maybe this is your problem.

This seems to be what was wrong with my machine. I moved the hopper forward about a quarter inch and it worked flawlessly for over half an hour.
