Default Daverob dongle on a Smart Pachi

Standard CR adapters will not work as the ball lending features are required for smart machines, but will a Daverob dongle work if the new machines have CR ports?

it depends on the protocal. The smart dongle does more than activates the shooter. But has 2 way communication (although basic) between the dongle and the machine. Of course if someone wants to buy and ship a new Smart Pachi to Dave. I'm sure he might take a look at it

I'm pretty sure anyone could tap the signals between the machine and money acceptor, both for adding credits and cashing out, and Dave would be able to set up the CR emulator to work with said signals. However an external switch will definitely be needed as Smart machines do not have a ball loan button, only a cash out button.

anyone.jpg There's a previous post from a gentleman in Japan alleging that smart pachis are now connected up to the equivalent of the Japanese IRS for real time accounting and tax purposes. If true, one would think that's an encrypted connection like State run slot machines in Illinois. Those State machines will not function at all unless they have that connection. The State Turns them on and off. "anyone" may need to bypass that as well.

Given that you can buy the machines with a smart head (google transltion) included ready for home play on Yahoo auctions now, I think it’s hacked. It’s not cheap enough for me to go buy one to see what it actually entails, but it looks like it exists.
