Help...I keep burning out volume controls

Can soneone please help? I have a Gamore High Grade and can not seem to find a volume control to handle the power. I have used the mini pots on the positive speaker wire and after one jackpot they are toast... I then tried the big douple rotary control that gaku sells and again after one jackpot it is fried... How can I control the volume? Is there a control that can handle the power?

I've run into this on some of my Sankyo machines. My solution was to use resistive pots with a higher wattage rating.

10 watt should be enough, what were you using the 2 watt ones?? Good info I never heard of that before and just installed 2 in a Sankyo/lumina frame.
The Julie is incredable how much power and sound these machines generate, metz had his Julie on low with cotton infront of the speakers and only one plugged in and it was still hard to carry on a Yellervation (conversation only yelling, often seen in bars or concerts) during a reach.

are you hooking the volume control with both positive and negative wires hooked to it???

I did that with one machine and they started smoking in bonus round.

you can just put the volume control or resistor in just one line.

New to the group, mostly a pinball guy. I just got a MANEKINEKO plus DARUMA, & another one is hopefully waiting coin mech, door key & tokens from Trademark Poker, HINOKUNI (friends game after he heard my purchase). I tried Radio Shack (Source in Canada) 100K pots, 1 each speaker & wasn't happy balancing speakers & very little play for volume adjustment. Heard about L Taps here & on rgp pinball. It is a reasonably easy install, there is a wire holder between left speaker & coin chute which I use plastic ties to secure. Input 1 & 2, Output 1 & 2 (opposite each other). Black is common, Red & White Power to each speaker. On the two here, white is common to speakers, Red & Blue are power. I just cut the wires near left speaker, strip, use butt connectors & crimp them, plastic ties to tidy up work. Less than $10 US for materials!

Thanks everyone for the welcome. Those in Canada that have Princess Auto Stores can find these there on clearance at half price. Anyone in Canada/USA/UK that wants the last one(maybe able to order some more in). $10 US includes butt connectors plus postage. I have seen these on the shelfs for years, but never had a use for them until now.
