Smile 1975 Nishijin "B" Restoration project and original manuals

I purchased a 1975 (based on stickers) Nishijin "B" Super Deluxe Pachinko machine. The seller said it was most likely purchased in Korea around 76/77 through a military exchange. The unit had seen better days, hadn't worked in ~30 years but it did include all parts. My favorite part of this machine is the spelling of "Italy", including the fact that "Goal" is spelled correctly.

    Replacement parts ordered:

I started with the power, as it didn't work. The lightbulb grommets were shot. The fuse wasn't blown, but it wouldn't push power through it. I decided to do the 12v upgrade kit since I wanted the lights to be nice and bright. After checking all the connections, some sanding on the fuse holder gave a solid connection.

I replaced the single plexiglas with a double since kids would play with it, and more protection the better. The sheets weren't too expensive, and made a HUGE difference.

I decided to do as good a pull apart as I could to clean each part individually. Lots of spiderwebs, stink bugs, balls where they shouldn't be, and 'other' things came out. I also replaced the staples with screws on the back. With the tips here, I took lots of photos as I went to ensure I could put it back together. Uploading here for reference for anyone else.

And lastly, with everything more or less pulled off the back.

Ended up building a new external frame for the unit. This keeps all the original wood, but strengthens the unit, and adds legs so it can stand.

The niece and nephew have been enjoying it quite a bit!

The unit also came with the original manual and some documentation. Apologies on them being upside down or rotated funny. I'm not the best with computers.
    The inserts: pachinko docs inserts.zip
    The original manual: pachinko docs.zip
The funny part is the manual that came with it did not show the ski unit. However, the one ordered from Pachinko Planet did. Go figure!
