Not sure, machine is down now.

Yeah , it looks like a ball shooter stop button . I've only seen them on the ball shooter knob assembily.

I have at least one machine with the shooter stop button on the machine instead of the knob!!
So if there isn't another button around there its probably the stop button..So if you have the knob in the perfect position but you want to stop the balls shooting for a while, push the button!!
