Picked this up from a very kind Pachtalk member who went to great lengths to ship it across the country for me, and sold it to me at a very reasonable price! Super excited to start going through it!

Don't know yet. It's sitting here in my office, taunting me to mess with it. Gotta wait until I get home.

did the previous owner mention if it's working at all?
before you turn it on, make sure all the electrical connectors are properly seated, the fuse(s) are good and do a thorough inspection. there are zero spare parts for arrange ball machines and if you fry a component especially a chip, there's a great chance it's an irreplaceable part.

It'll definitely get a through going through prior to trying to power it on. It's currently lacking a power cord, so no temptation

Stop teasing everybody and just do it! I plugged mine in without doing anything in particular. Lucky for me no issues besides filthy micro switches and rusty balls causing the lights to not always illuminate. The previous owner had already plugged it in before yet never opened or used it; so what more harm could it do?

You won’t know for sure till you plug it it! Good luck!

LOL, it'll be a little while yet. I've got to finish working on a Renpatsu-shiki before I can start on this guy.

Ok, finally got a little time over the weekend to start tinkering. I'm to the point where I think I can apply some power, but there's no transformer. There obviously WAS one at some point, and it looks like virtually all other arrange ball machines take 25v. Is there a commonly used replacement transformer? If so, could someone point me to it? If not, will a 24v doorbell transformer work?

Got a little time to tinker last night. I repaired a couple of small issues with the board with all the relays on it and found a suitable (I hope) transformer. Most of the lights come on when a ball goes into the corresponding pocket, which is good. There was no reaction to inserting a coin or hitting the payout button, and the machine doesn't seem to know when a game is over except there are no more balls to shoot. So obviously still some work to do, but I think I should be able to work it back into functionality.

There’s probably 3 solenoids for yours; coin mech payout, ball dropping (game start) solenoid, and one for that tulip. Similar to mine.

Do any of them work? What happens when you drop a ball in the tulip?

    Hopefully it’s not board related.

I doubt there's a solenoid on that tulip, most of the early-year arrangeballs don't have powered tulips, and this one definitely looks like 75 or 76 at the latest.
I am not sure when arrangeballs first came on the scene (anyone know if they existed in 73? 74?) but the existence of relays coincides with early 1970s Japanese machines tech.
So it would not surprise me to find a date like 74 on some of the parts.

Arrangeballs never know when the game is over, they do their payout checks when the button is pressed or a new coin is inserted.
WANTED: 10¥ candystore games, pre-1950s Japanese machines, スマートボール (Smart Ball), 1948 Bally Heavy Hitter, Pickwick-style (~1905)
    willing to ship from anywhere.

You might be right about that tulip: the noise I heard must be the coin payout solenoid in mine.

Arrangeballs have been around since at least 1973 according to Fuji Shoji. The only arrangeball manufacturer that keeps a machine history website up to date. Here’s #1 Pai Pai game https://www.fujimarukun.co.jp/products/paipaigame/

Mahjong/jankyu style go back to 1957
