    Default Feb. 18, 2009

:whine:For us in the USA - Beginning Feb. 18, 2009, anyone who does not own a HDTV set your old TV will no longer receive a picture. Unless you add a converter box . Don't expect your VCR to fully work to record shows by changing channels and you can trash that old TVO and have to buy the new HD one too . My cable company said they will supply me with a converter for my non HDTV's at 4.99 month per TV . Let see how all this plays out in the next 412 days .

So just like the old CRT computer monitors, we will be seeing a ton of older TV's being thrown out.

That seems kinda false to me... There is still a huge market in CRT television.

    Hello Everyone,

There will be a box to connct to your tv that will convert the signal to digital for your old tv. I dont know where the link is that says this but its true. The government also posted something awhile back and this past week in newspaper for a number to call they will give you a 50 dollar coupon toward the purchase of this box.

I'm all for the Change. It gives me a reason to move the 42 inch plasma to the Bedroom and get a 56 or bigger for the TV Room. I've already been watching the prices.

I keep one for Back Up if the power goes out. Hard to use a cordless or new fangled one if there is no Juice.

This is actually old news, the change was announced years ago and the dead line has actually been extended. I think the switch was supposed to have already happen or it was this year, I can't remember

A good excuse for me to get a nice wall mount HD set for the bedroom. Nothing as nice as Willie got for Christmas (42" Sony, Blueray(sp?) HD DVD) and lots of bragging rights.

Temporarily, go to youtube.com and search for BudgeRahe for videos. Until I get the links set up in the museum
