    Default Homemade Allwin payout mechanism

Because my precious Allwin was missing its payout mechanism, I had to make my own.
    Ta-da!
You'll see I melted the aluminum coin hopper with my semi-inept brazing skills, but here it is.
The first picture if an original I used as a model.

I'm very impressed!! It looks very much like the original.

Does your Allwin work now? Also, I assume you plan to replace the "deflection shield" that forces the 'overflow' coins to slide down into the slot leading to the coin box?

wow! now I know who to contact when I start on my allwin...

did you aluminum weld? I have heard that is tricker than steel/iron work. I probably would have used epoxy or goop, not knowing how to weld yet.

I have the original shield, oddly enough. I just left it off for the picture.

I wish I knew how to weld. I used a product called Alumaloy. They used to show it on infomercials and at fairs. They call it an easy aluminum welding material, but it's really brazing. It works with a propane torch, as the base material only needs to reach around 900 deg. I like it, but it doesn't flow very well and is gloppy, so I had to remove a lot by grinding.
In retrospect I'd use epoxy putty and aluminum paint to get the same effect.
