    Default Troubleshooting LEDs

I just got this Kinnikuman machine and after a 8hr deep clean, I plugged it in and noticed an entire set of lights is out. Seems odd for all those bulbs to be out (the top “go” animatronic). I don’t see anything disconnected. Any thoughts on what to try next?

How soon after cleaning? And how cleaned? Moisture gets under SMD components and takes a while to dry. Till then, little shorts happen.

    Thanks compirate!

It's been days. I cleaned the cell w/ a sparing amounts of forming window cleaner using a pica cell. I was very careful to ensure that did not get on the electronic, just core playfield.

This cell came w/ a ton of parts where the paint is flaking off and I need to 3d print the the face below the chucker (split in two, other piece not in the box). Long story short, I need to do some cell surgery on this game anyways, but wanted to see if there's something quick I can do to remediate.

did you strip the cell? its more likely a dodgy connection than anything else.

I haven't stripped the cell yet, but that is definitely next up. Thank you!!

PS- if you're ever dealing with tar coated parts, ultrasonic cleaning does amazing work. If it's then clean but discolored, retrobright will finish it off. I had to to this on everything from the top of the machine that a ball touches on the way down. Lots of work, but it's super clean. Unrelated note: I hate surprise pachinko spiders.

You didn't say if the lights worked before you started cleaning. Just that you just got it and after cleaning you noticed the lights out. Did you see them on prior

Oh hey- sorry. The machine was gross that I gave it a deep cleanse prior to plugging it in, so I don't know. Good step for the next machine I buy that's dirty. Must resist the urge to initially sanitize it

409 strips cigarette tar like anything! I had a bunch of battlecounters that were absolutely brown, just spray with 409 and rinse, clean as can be.

If you take it apart, take tons of pics! 1st rule of pachi restoration!

if you have a decent multimeter that has the diode setting on it. you can test each led individually. the cathode will be your black lead on com. the red lead goes to the anode. try the leads on either side of it. if its working it will light up from the battery of the meter. if you need a more details I can make a video for you if you like on how. just let me know.
