    Default Arnold strikes again!

eBay has just begun to pull Terminator auctions. Saw one from pachinko_pallace disappear. Shortly after that one from homeusepins was gone.

There's only one left (it's also from pachinko_pallace). I suspect that will be pulled within the next few minutes.

It was this time last year you couldn't get on at all.

Makes me wonder just what kind of "investment" it would be then... you couldn't sell it!

But the whole idea of "investment" and "collectible" machines bothers me too. "Retired" machine wording always makes me think of the old Beanie Baby craze. And that self-destucted because of greedy sellers and a greedy manufacturer.

That one from PP is still posted so I think they may just have been after that other seller.

No, PP had 2 of them. They got the first and left the 2nd. My guess is Arnold's lawyers searched eBay before the second one went up. They saw 2 of them up there (PP's and homeusepin's), reported them to eBay and eBay removed them. Since they didn't see, and didn't report PP's second one, it stayed up there. When people report trademark violations to eBay, eBay just does what's asked of them. They don't go looking for additional violations on their own.

Well I received an email from Sean, the BS copywriter guy for PP on their 2nd Super Sunday auction. He lists the Terminator as their last one.

    Twist
    Fire Drift
    Hot Rod Queen (Last One)
    Las Vegas
    Beast Sapp
    Betty Boop
    Austin Powers (Last One)
    Fire Express
    007
    Terminator (Last One)
    Tri Color (Last One)
    Meanwhile, somewhere in Oklahoma.

Here's the official word, direct from Eric at PP.

eBay has asked them not to use Arnold's name in their Terminator listings. The listing that was removed by eBay will be changed and it should be relisted in the next day or two.

Did you pay about $240 for it? If so I contacted the same guy. He said I was too late and that someone had just sent him a PayPal payment. I asked how much he got. He said $240. I said too bad, I would have gone as high as $300. He's reply was that he'd be happy to sell it to me instead. I passed. Didn't want to have anything to do with that kind of deal.

    Hope you really get it.

That's right... don't say you have one too loudly.
Maybe customs will be at your house next.
Customs... as if Arnold is in charge of that group or something.
Rumor had it Customs was "destroying them at the docks" last year.
It sure did keep the prices up. Now the talk starts again.

These machines were going for $60-70 USD in the Japanese retail market a few weeks ago. I guess some kind of rumor has to keep them high priced over here.

Maybe it's a different Arnold Schwarzenegger here, in the re-list. :smt102

Well, at least they've taken "Arnold" out of the title of the listing. It will be interesting to see if that's enough to keep eBay (and Arnold's lawyers) happy. I can't see why it would.

    Default terminator

Well Arnold arrived today!!! filthy, dirty, rotten, rasin frasin, Satan (ups) delivered it. she is in better shape than the last one..kinda: back busted up pretty bad, door knocked loose, hopper bounced forward and jacked up the coin acceptor (rebent to proper angle, then removed.25 mod. she's back to tokens now),took about 20mins. to findout why i only had 110v power(plug loose. case pretty much intact except for dents on all corners and afore mentioned back. wife is working hard to get it into bonus mode!(she always gets first shot) any idea which company flat blacks the case and adds a warning sticker to the outside telling you for entertainment only?
