Default 1967 Nishijin - stuck balls

I have a 1967 Nishijin that I cleaned up and mounted in a cabinet. During play the balls hang up on top of the spinners and a couple of other areas. At first I thought this was due to the mounting angle of the machine but doesn't appear to be the case (tilting it backwards far enough would fix it but a slight tilt doesn't help).

Is this due to the glass diameter/mounting issues, pins/spinners being pushed in too far, or something else?

My other 1971 Nishijin doesn't have this issue and I wanted to ask for some pointers before I started to tinker with it.

    Thanks!
    Taylor

I would say its a glass issue. Is it glass or plexi? Are you using glass in both slots (not sure if a 67 had 2 slots)

The machine should have a slight lean backwards (3 degrees) also you should be using either 1/8" thick glass or plexiglass in the frame. Those things should fix most of your issues. Otherwise your machine might have some nails hammered down too low (kinda unlikely).

If only using 1 pane of glass (or Plexi), make sure it is in the track closest to the playfield.

I fought this problem on a few machines. If the plexi is curved, you can get balls stuck on spinners. Try reversing the plexi.

Also, the spinners can be tilted downward somewhat to minimize any gap between them and the plexi.

I'm using 1/4" glass with 2 panes. I'll try adjusting the spinners a little and also a slight tilt backwards.

Tilt them downwards so that the top of the spinner is closer to the glass.

Recently picked up a new machine and was playing it for a bit. Realized this is the exact problem. That and the plexi is a bit on the thinner side of what I normally use.

I pulled the nails holding the spinners out slightly and angled them down slightly. Seems to have fixed the problem!
