After seeing what the screen looks like... I would trace back both ends of the LCD cable to see if it's a loose connection or maybe a frayed wire.

I have to agree with others. I'm no Pachinko master, but that screen certainly looks like it has a SYNC issue. Displays can get their SYNC clock from the video driver, and if it is not there you get that kind of tear in the screen. It is most likely being caused by one of the pins not connecting between the board and the display.

If the cable is good it could be the clock source has gone south. That could be either on the main board, or on the display. When I said they can get their clock source from the computer, that doesn't mean it has to. My next thing to do would be to replace the screen with an identical replacement one. After that you are talking something on the main board. I would then keep it for something to scavenge parts from, and put a new cell into the frame.

I started with the belief the screen was good ... Human nature made me try all the short cuts ... But the only way I Think is to bare it back to the screen as suggested by Drunkenclam ... Then check all wires on the ribbon for continuity ... clean and re seat the ribbon at both ends ... Re check all pins ... re seat everything on main board ... If that doesn't work then its a board problem ... If possible i would re solder the graphic card ... If that doesn't work ... Try to source and replace the graphics card ... As I said this is my first electronic ... Which I obtained at a good low price ... I am pleased with the look of it and the light effects ... So if i can save it I will ... Just need the time to work at it ... I am really grateful for all answers and help from the members ... They have given a newbie lots of insights into how these work as against the vintage machines ... Its been a good learning curve ... Lol! A way to go yet ... When I have bared back to screen and re assembled it I will come back and give the results ... THANK YOU ALL

Sorry I can't be more help. I also have a machine with no video, but I'm 95% sure it's not the screen as the board supplying it, doesn't power the invertors and one of the indicator LEDs fails to light up. But until I get another game board I can't tell for sure.
Yours does light up but the signal is corrupt. We get the same problem with optical counters on motors. The unit shuts down because it is no longer getting an impulse saying the motor is turning. But is it the optical reader, the wiring or the pricessor unit. It's an expensive mistake if you get it wrong.
Time for you the gently open those plastic cases, don't forget to earth yourself before touching any ICs (chips) as static electricity can damage some components,

Hope it's the screen or cables, you'll be hard pressed to source a 'video card' as it's that huge main board on the back I believe. Those 7 or 8 chips with the labels on them are the video rom chips that store the actual video files. If you mean the lcd interface card, might be easier.

Howdy and welcome to the "Addiction"

I had this Pachinko back in 2004 and it looks like the vertical hold is off a bit . It's a pity that no known electronic service manuals exist for us collectors of the Modern Pachinkos but thats kind of the thing that haunts me sometimes that possibly my Version 1 Sankyo Star Wars computer or screen will fail one of these years but I do have great fun with it . My Newgin "Space Adventurer Cobra " has one of the ball payout motors circuits on one of the boards not paying out and then my "New Art Masterpiece has one of the audio channels failling But again , I do have great fun and I hope that you can get your screen problem solved
When things don't go right the 1st time , Step back ,Take a break and come back renewed. RGS

When I got this machine ... the payout motor was not working ... I took the unit off the machine ... Got a piece of copper wire bent it and fed it up the ball hole... Pushed the gear round with it ... Put the unit back on the machine and it worked fine ... Might be worth a try ...
