Exclamation Funky dog pachinko (Flunky Dog)

I have bought a funky dog machine but it has no transformer, just two wires. Is it a 24v AC transformer?

    Welcome Aboard

yep, 240-24 vac transformer, For a machine of that age, you want a 5A one or bigger, I get mine from RS or Farrnells
I guess it was this one on ebay http://www.pachitalk.com/forums/ebay...-pachinko.html

    Short answer. No
Long answer. Yes. Very rare and all in 日本語. More of a playing guide rather than manual. If you have a question just ask.

But remember, these are parlour gambling machines, rather than amusement machines. Designed to make money for the parlour. As to which, changing odds or payouts can't be done, unless you adjust the nails to encourage more balls into the start pocket.

Whilst there are no proper english manuals for these machines (they were manufactured and designed to be used solely in Pachinko Parlours in Japan)

I can give you some information.

The real name is 'FLUNKY DOG' manufactured by a company called 'Maruhon' around July 2004 and I believe it is in the 'Spark' frame

here is a link to the listing (you can see it's Japanese name in characters too, which is also helpful when searching for info)

    http://translate.google.com/translat...&ie=ISO-8859-1

As most pachinko machines operate generally the same, i can give you a couple of links which will be useful if you are new to pachinko

But of course the members here will likely be your best guide, so please do ask any questions and I'm sure someone here is bound to know the answer

ok, First, look on the back and confirm you have a dongle, It should be plugged into a 25Pin D connector, if the connector is empty, the shooter will not work, Also the shooter requires you to make contact with the metal ring on the back of the shooter, If you have a full grip on the shooter it should be fine, If you can post a pic of the back of the machone, That will help

Pictures uploaded. The machine awards the balls as it should and all the functions appear to work apart from firing the balls.

There is a dongle there, (third pic) I can see the pics better when I get home. Check to see if the fuse near the dongle is intact.
Also pull the dongle out and refit it. More than that, you will need a multi meter.
Try following the wires back from the shooter and see where they go?

Thank you. I have found the problem, the resistor on the dongle had gone. I replaced the dongle and the socket as they had seen better days. Thank you for your help.Regards Silver Fox
