The maker is Hewia. I just got one of these for a buddy. Paid $50 for the machine and about 800 balls. The cell wasn't as colorful and had the gratutitous water stains.

This machine looks nice although the wires have be cut. Really odd to have 'fish' on the center feature and baseball on the cell. This would be a good one to make a custom out of for one favorite baseball team.

I have a couple Heiwa's. They are a bit different. Thats one pretty unique itself with the baseball theme.

I agree with Rusty about the fish and baseball. What were they thinking!

As a guess, the fusion of the fish and baseball may not be too weird after all.

Perhaps this is a tribute machine to the Japanese Baseball Central League team known as the Hiroshima Toyo Carp. This team has been around since 1949.

Of course I could be grasping at straws.

    Talking Re: Interesting Pachi

That sounded like a good idea...But I just looked at the pic again...THEY ARE BIRDS!! How did we all miss that yesterday??

They are even in a tree with a birdhouse I think!!
    BIRDS.jpg Click and look!!

I really though they were fish!!

There are several NFL (unofficial I'm guessing) pachis I've seen over the years..some even say NFL on them...but some have random fish/trees/fruit backgrounds like most pachis have and some have ones with nice matching football players on the backgrounds...And I've seen those football backgrounds on standard no theme pachis...so I guess the same happened with baseball ones too...just my best guess!?

BTW, do they or did they care about football in Japan??

Or was it just another random "American" theme??

BTW, I still like this pachi..

"Blowing smoke rings at the moon."

I was thinking about it, but decided to get a Maturi instead.

The centerpiece and the chutes above it remind me a bit of a Nishijin A configuration, but the back is more like a B.

Are there generations of Heiwa machines?
