Default So pretty... But you know.... Help please :-)

So I have this beauty I'm working on but it's not paying our correctly. I believe it's due to the seesaw linkage getting "stuck" on the portion of the jackpot that holds the pay balls. I took pictures of the machine because she is cute and pictures of the assembly stuck, in its down position, and as a whole without the guard. Please help as I am stumped. I cleaned off soume gunk from the linkage and the assembly but she is still sticking :-)

Can you post some other pictures of the back?

I'm also kinda confused as what you are saying is happening to the jackpot mech there. Usually those aren't problems. It is more often some other linkage out of place or lack of balls (need 500 minimum).

    100 machines and counting...

Here are some pictures of the back. All the linkages feel good and easy moving, when the winning balls are dumped into the pay tray the jackpot assembly arm "sticks" to the lower assembly so the new pay balls don't fall into the center. I tested with appx 400 balls in the hopper and put one through a pay slot. I'm sorry I don't think I'm explaining very well

I totally get what you are saying as I have the exact same problem (I think). My seesaw tends to stick in the down position and then the jackpot doesn't fill up. Once I figure out a solution I'll let you know or vice-versa if you don't mind.

sounds like you both need to take your machines apart, clean and polish out the pivot points of the jackpot mech.. dirty pivot points are usually the cause of problems like this.. please resist the urge to use oil or lube on the pivot points.. this will solve your problems for the short term.. but the oils will cause dirt to collect and make the problem worse.. better to clean and polish then reinstall the parts dry and clean..

I think I see the problem. You don't have enough balls to move the lever circled off the arm (direction of arrow).

    daiichi.jpg

If that isn't the problem then I'm just not sure what is going on exactly. As that was the only thing I saw out of place.

I'm sorry for the confusion with the photos, the photo was showing the issue ( balls were removed for this). Even with 600+ balls it still sticks. I'm going to take the linkages apart and clean them... Any suggestions on polishes for the joints? I know no lube but has anyone tried a dry poly lube? (Sprays wet and then dries for mechanical pivots that are prone to gunking up with liquid)

Sometimes I use Silicone Spray. Dries completely after a few seconds and leaves parts nice and slippery.

http://www.walmart.com/ip/Glide-Sili...32816/45294562 (don't know if they actually carry that in store or not and price is showing for 12) You can pick it up at most autoparts stores.

Doesn't collect dirt at all. Have used it on machines I worked on about 2 years ago and they are still working great.

Ok... Took apart again.... Cleaned to the extreme! Every linkage lol I used dry poly lube ( have cases of it). Sprays wet and then dries. I use it on my mechanical linkages at work. Everything is right as rain! Thanks all! Mtnplayer if you need some help pm me and I'll do my best or post here and everyone can help. If it would help I can take it apart again to take pictures. I got into the zone of fixing and forgot to take pics to share
