    Default Monroe Pachinko Information needed.

I'm guessing that because it has an electronic shooter, it belongs in Modern.

An older Monroe Pachinko has come up on ebay and I plan on bidding. Even though I'm a vintage man at heart, I've seen the video of the machine paying out and the dirty old man in me has wanted one ever since. You can see it here: http://www.ebay.com/itm/152422476582?ul_noapp=true

I do have a few questions:

    1. Does it require a dongle? I suspect not... doesn't look to be that sophisticated.

    2. Is there any service information (schematics/wiring diagrams)?

    3. Has anyone dug into one far enough to know if it is microprocessor controlled, or discrete logic?

    4. Anything else I need to know about the machine?

I know I'm supposed to ask it's value, but it really doesn't matter. I live in a machinery desert, so I'm used to paying more to get what I want. I have a set amount of my game room fund set aside for it.

Any information would be greatly appreciated.

    No dongle.
Hanemono style so no random number generator (Odds) More skill required. Making it more fairer.
Logic board would be pretty simple as it only has to detect balls in pockets and open/close the wings and move the centre feature.
Basic tone generator for music too.

Value is as much as you or anyone else wants to pay

Only know issue with eariy modern machines is the cam can wear or break on the shooter. or the gearbox goes.

It showed up yesterday and I unpacked it. Looked it over, plugged it in. Lights blink. Tried loading some balls in it, and they went straight through. The previous owner bent the two metal stops out of the way where it holds the jackpot. I straightened those out, now I have a problem with the payout motor jamming. I'll chase that more later.

Out of curiosity, I opened the case to the control board. It does have processor (Z80A), memory, prom, and interface chips.

The machine is an interesting combination of vintage and modern. There's still a mechanical linkage between the award tray and the shooter to not let you shoot if the tray is empty. But the shooter is electronic. Why not have the computer sense the tray and shut off the shooter? It also still has the see-saw. I figured with the computer you could have done away with that too.

Does anyone know the rules to the game? What has to happen in what order?

Anyway, stay tuned. More to come.

are you sure metal stops where bent? machine may owe you from last owner hitting multi fevers

The were definitely bent. There were tell-tale plier gouges in the metal.

As it turns out, there's nothing wrong with the payout motor. I was cheating it by dropping balls into the jackpots and didn't realize the reward tray had run dry. In addition to the link between the tray and the shooter, there's some linkage that blocks the payout when the reward ramps get too low.

I wonder if they bent the stops because they were trying to loosen the machine up. It's very hard to hit a jackpot, never mind get the fever round going. I think I'll try my hand at some nail bending. I bought the machine for fun, and my drunk friends are only going to play it to watch Monroe strip.

I'm guessing there's a nail bending tutorial on this site somwhere.

Thanks. I'm pretty pleased with it.

Only issue now is it goes into some sort of alarm mode after it every fever round. I read on another thread that this was to notify the attendant that someone had "fevered". If it is normal, I'll rig up a reset switch.

Only other machines I've ever had were vintage. Never really understood the excitement about ball lifters. I do now. Man, this thing can go through some balls in a hurry!

Hanemono machines are also know to go into alarm if a ball doesn't go through the centre feature during fever. As they assume there is a fault.

Anyone have a set up video by chance? I just got one of these, and the shooter doesn't engage. I feel like there's probably a way it needs set up like a classic, but any help would be appreciated.
