These are pictures of what was there. I will give you a brief explanation of the house and its history. My house was built as a cheese factory in the 1930's. It was in operation till about the mid 50's. My great grandfather ran it. When he pasted away my grandma bought out her brother. Then when grandma pasted away from lung cancer my dad bought out my uncle. When my dad had an accident unloading a tarp off a flat bed truck he developed some financial troubles. I bought it from my parents and since it is a duplex, they stayed here till they moved up north.The corner room was the boiler room for the factory. From day one it was never in good shape. Bad construction of the concrete walls, with no concrete floor. The walls were buckling for years. As you can see at the corner of the window and double doors the concrete is real bad. I asked an excavator to come and knock it down because I felt it was a hazard to the kids and tenants if it came down on its own. I still kept stuff in it and was usable but it was time for it to go. He told me save the money and put a chain around each corner and pull with a good pick up. It will come down. This was on a Friday. Sat. about 9:00 I get the great idea of just testing out the concrete at the corner I told you about. I took out one piece with a crow bar. 9 ft of the side with the doors and 8ft of the side with the window came down! The roof stayed up! So out came the tractor and the chains. Then that was that other then the clean up. The other building attached to it painted weight, was the intake for the milk. Trucks would pull up and unload milk cans. That is the reason it sits up higher than the rest of the buildings and has a slant to it. I tried to just add on to this building to use up the 8ft to the edge of the garage but it also was not constructed using normal building practices. I would have used almost as much lumber as if I started over from scratch! So that is what I did. The draw backs to the new room will be that it goes off my garage and I will still have to go through the cold to get to it and the inside hight is only 7ft do to needing to keep the window above the roof. Long winded and I said I would be brief!

Yes... an man's home is his castle.
A place where he can cut the chesse whenever he wants.
And Laz need not be ashamed when he does... he just needs to remind everyone of the history of the house when it happens!
