It's nearly Crabmas Eve and with everything going smoothly for a change, the Christmas Crab was taking some time to get some holiday cards done (Christmas, Crabmas, Hanukkah, Kwanzaa, Solstice, etc...) when a young helper prawn came in and was about to give the Christmas Crab a headache!!

Hey, what ya doin' ?? asked Pinky Prawn..

Oh, just trying to get these cards done..Said the Christmas Crab..

**sigh** Yes..real cards.. So, now that that is settled, was there something you wanted??

Oh, yeah..The lobsters say the regular sausages are done, so they're starting on the veggie sausages next!!

Well, I was just thinking that, umm..You like to do a lot of things the old way..

You mean like these cards??

Yeah..and like I noticed you don't even have a website or social media!! Like, how do you expect to get young people excited about Crabmas without any of that??

**sigh** Young helper, first, we have one of the most high tech facilities in the world, while Santa still relies nearly 100% on magic, not that there's anything wrong with that, I mean we still need magic to do what we do, but our factories and this castle have been powered by wind and solar for over a decade now!! And we had a website (crabmas.com) before you were even born!! We even had merch and everything!! We still have some stored in that room over there that never sold!! Anyway, my best friend Gordon pointed out long ago that everyone already knows about Crabmas, so why waste time and money on all that stuff..and he was right..I mean people like us just don't need all that stuff to????????..I mean the Tooth Fairy may be addicted to Twitter, but they don't need twitter to be known, everyone already knows who they are!!

Yeah..I guess, said the prawn, but I just think with some modern marketing we could take Crabmas to the next level!! And I have this cousin that works for a PR firm and I was talking to him and he said he'd be willing to help us for free!!

Free, really?? And why would he do that??

Well..Umm..Well he a, just likes to help people??

Sure.. Crab said skeptically..

Ok, ok.. He's not really employed by them exactly..He's an intern, But he knows if he can show them what he can do that they'd pay him the big bucks!!

Big bucks eh?? So what will this cost me??

Oh, nothin..my friend has connections!!

Well, rich parents.. So we got this covered!!

Well..ok, you can do it.. Just keep out of everyone's way!! You can even use the old room where we keep all the old Y2K merch that didn't sell!!

As the days went on, more and more ideas came, and with each new idea a new person joined the team!!

Whoa!! That is brilliant!!

Yeah, I know a guy..I'll get him over here right away to get started!!

By the end of the first night there were already half a dozen people working on this project now know as Crabmas 2.0.. Younger and older, prawn and not prawn, all with one thing in common, they were all super excited to be a part of Crabmas' sparkly new future, whatever that turned out to be!!

The next day, Sera, one of the newest members of the team decided that they needed new pr photos of the Christmas Crab after discovering the last set of photos they had to work with were from 1988 taken at a Sears portrait studio!!

Hey, you guys..I need the big guy in here for some new head shots, make that happen!! Sera said while snapping her gum..

Umm..I guess we could ask him to come for a few minutes, said Pinky..

After a long session of begging, the Christmas Crab agreed to 15 minutes of whatever they were doing!! But those 15 minutes turned into several hours after their photographer, Sue (a tiny giraffe), demanded the crab get a makeover before she started shooting!!

The Winter witch's daughter, Elspeth, a famous (on Crabmas Island at least) makeup artist was brought in to do the makeover!!

While it took longer than they said it would, the Christmas Crab kind of enjoyed the break from the normal holiday madness.. It felt good just getting to rest while his shell was being polished!!

Ok that was a nice break, said the Christmas Crab, but I really need to get back to work.. So get whatever pictures you need so I can get going!!

The photo shoot took ages, but the Christmas Crab didn't mind, he was enjoying his time with the enthusiastic kids, even if he though they were all a bit nuts!!

With the new photos of the Christmas Crab added to all the new social media profiles, the last thing they needed to do was to figure out and finalize their merch and finish the web store!!

While most of the team worked on getting the computery stuff done, Pinky realized something important they had forgotten to do!!

Crap ,yelled Pinky, the merch designs!! We figured out what products we wanted, sizes, colors, quantities BUT.......

But what?? asked Chris P Prawn..

We forgot to figure out what was going to be ON all the stuff..The graphics, man..THE GRAPHICS!!

Pinky started to hyperventilate!!

We.....don't.....have.....time.....or.....a.....graphic..... designer.... Pinky wheezed..

Dude..dude!! Calm down.. There's nothing to worry about!! said Chris P..

Don't you remember?? We live in the future, man!! AI will do the work for us!!

Oh yeah!! Pinky remembered while breifly consdering if AI art was ethical before the thought completly left his mind!!

So Pinky and Chris P Prawn got started feeding the Crabulous AI engine all of their merch design ideas!! The "pictures" they got back the cousins thought were brilliant!! A few of the others on the team that caught a glimpse weren't too sure, but they didn't have much time left to get everything done on time, so they didn't say anything..

In just a few hours they were done!!

Or so they thought..

Now that they were finally finished, the prawns had an announcement to make..

Ok Team, tomorrow's the day!! **Cheers** Me and Pinky have been talking, and with how perfectly everything has gone, we've decided, this is too important to Crabmas to keep from everyone!! So, tomorrow we're not launching this to just Crabmas island, we're launching this to the WORLD!!

The team cheered again!! What could possibly go wrong??

After countless hours of work, the now team of a dozen were finally ready to unleash Crabmas 2.0 onto the world!!

And just like that, Crabmas 2.0 was sent to everyone's phones and computers, all around the world!!


But just minutes later, the angry calls, messages and emails started to come in!!

And just like that, it seemed within minutes of Crabmas 2.0's launch, Crabmas' image in the public eye was ruined!!

After hearing all the commotion, the Christmas Crab came into the room to see how everything was going!!

Hey kids, how's the launch going?? asked the Christmas Crab..

OH Mr. Christmas Crab.......We killed it!! said Pinky..

Oh, is that, umm, good??

No, I mean we ruined it..

You ruined it?? Ruined what??

Crabmas!! We launched Crabmas 2.0 and the response we got was almost immediate!!

So, not good eh??

Not just not good, TERRIBLE!! Chris P Prawn said sounding devastated, everyone hates it SO much!! There is no coming back from something like this!! It won't be safe for you to be seen outside!! You need to cancel Crabmas NOW!!

Hold on..Calm down!! It's crazy in here, come out in the hall so I can hear you!!

Ok.. Now it can't be that bad, I mean only the people on Crabmas island saw it, and while I know they can get pretty worked up, they'll get over it!!

B..But you see, boss..We, umm, stammered Pinky..

Spit it out!!

We, Umm decided, it was so good and so important that we skipped the Crabmas Island soft launch and released it World Wide!!

Oh, sorry, we shouldn't have laughed.. It's just with your project getting so big, me and Gordon thought that maybe it would be a good idea to put some safety measures in place!!

Yeah, we asked Gordon's niece if she would join your team and keep an eye on things!!

And when she heard you were going to launch Crabmas 2.0 world wide, said Gordon, she worked late and changed some computery things so that it would only go to Crabmas Island, but it would still look like it was launching around the world!!

What?? Wow!! But..what about all the angry calls and comments??

Well, said the Christmas Crab.. Those were real Crabmas Island residents and their honest feelings/opinions.. But don't worry.. Gordon's niece has already sent out statements to all the people explaining that nothing has actually changed, that we were just testing some ideas and some people got carried away.. Anyway, I think it will all be fine!!

So we didn't ruin Crabmas?? asked Pinky..

Heck no, said the Christmas Crab..

And, you're not mad?? asked Chris P..

No.. While you should have stuck to what we agreed upon, I know you guys didn't mean any harm, you just got overly excited and things just got away from you..and anyway, I think you guys had a few actually Good ideas!!
