Daverob dongle+pachislo medal lender

Will a Daverob dongle work on this medal lender? I have one working great on the pachinko and am trying to figure out a way to bring the ball lending feature to my 3 pachislos as well.

Hmmm. It might require a small board to adapt the signals.

I made years ago a small board wired to a solenoid that would trigger the coin lever on a pachi ball payout sandwich.

From what I remember. In a nutshell. The dongle needs a ready signal from the machine. Then gives the command to payout. Then needs a conformation of payout.

Although I'm sure such signals are in the token machine. They maybe hard written in code rather than simple micro switches like I had. Also when I did mine. I made sure to get a ball payout that didn't have a note acceptor. Only coin. To remove a great chunk of the internal electronics.
Again. If you can get the dongle through a different board To send a signal the machine thinks is a valid note. All would be good. At what level this would be I don't know. Hopefully a link between the acceptor and the payout system. But that could be in code rather than a simple input signal.

I too have though about getting a token payout machine. Just to keep things easier when playing through a long dry spell.


Looking at the ones they had. IF I were to attempt this project. I would get a unit that had the ¥1000 note only option. Than than multipule different notes a V Coin/ IC Card options. As that MIGHT be easier.

As the money is accepted by the medal lender, and it then pays out the tokens itself, everything is done internally and there's nothing left for a dongle to do. The dongle is only needed on a pachinko machine as the money is accepted externally to the pachinko machine, so the dongle pretends to be the money acceptor.

Unfortunately pachislo machines don't appear to have the 'ball loan' functionality found in pachinko machines.

If you want to use the medal lender, then I think the best option is to try and find a signal between the coin mech or note acceptor that you can trigger to make the medal lender think it's just had money inserted (unless it has a 'freeplay' switch inside!).

Alternatively it might be possible to insert something in the cable going to the hopper in the pachislo machine itself, this could tell the hopper to pay out some tokens, while blocking the feedback signal back to the pachislo machines CPU so that it doesn't trigger an error code on the machine.

I have several older units and just got some 1000Yen notes for them. The hopper inside is pretty much the same as the ones in the pachislos. Perhaps some kind of micro controller to tell them to dispense 25 tokens when they get a signal from a button or something. Bypass the bill mech and internal controller completely. The notes are an easier thing to do though. Just make sure the get the kind that work with your dispenser, some haven't been updated to newer note styles.
