    Element 14 sponsored a Ben Heck (YouTube electronics builder guy) to modify a vintage Nishijin to add lights and sounds. I watched the video several years ago and enjoyed it. Perhaps it can give you some ideas. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BNRR1n57TP0
