Default New Player from Berlin, Germany

    Hello friends,
I am new to this forum and first of all I would like to say hello and introduce myself.
I am from Berlin, Germany and have been very interested in Japan and Japanese technology, especially of the late Showa years, for a long time. I collect Japanese records from the 80's (Akina Nakamori in particular), I service my vintage Seiko and Casio watches myself and now I got myself another dream fulfilled:
I got myself my first classic modern Pachinko machine.

From what information I could find online (thanks @johntova for your topic on the libraries), it is a 1982 New Fever '82 (ニューフィーバー'82) machine by Sankyo.

I already posted this text in my thread in the support section, so ignore it if you've read it the second time now.
If you have info and may be able to0 help me with my machine, please head over to that thread, thank you very much in advance!

Welcome! Sorry I missed this. When I was in Japan in the 80’s, I worked extensively for Seiko teaching English and worked with both watches and clocks. They taught me all about the symbols at the bottom which show where the watch was made, and all about the quartz watch. I got the buy at the “employee” sale as well and got my first nice watch. I also got an obnoxious alarm clock which was very very Japanese that said “asa da, asa da yo” over and over to get you up. It was a chicken holding a megaphone. Sadly it fell off a shelf, and did not survive.

Where I live now, seiko had offices, but recently moved...

    Wow that sounds really cool!
Also, that chicken clock sounds similar to this one from Sailor Moon:

Where would I have to search for the symbols in order to post them here and ask you where they were made?

These are my two favourite watches:
    Unbenanntes Bild2.png
I brought them with me on a trip to Japan in March. The left one was quite costly as it solt for 5000Yen, whereas the right one was a bargain at 1000Yen. Both were in non-working condition and my local watchmaker gave me little hope as he said he couldn't service them as they were being too old.

So I got to work, searched and found the service manuals, spent a couple of days on ebay to buy the parts that I figured were broken (mostly due to rust) and the right lubricants, disassembled everything, had it ultrasound-cleaned, reassembled everything and it all works great now. Very happy with the outcome.

I remember (this was a long time ago) that the two crescents that are below the 6 mean Ichikawa Plant, and I used to be there, and the other one is two elongated triangles and that one is made in an area of Tokyo, which also makes the clocks. I just “inherited” a watchmakers bench (which I am converting to a jewelry bench, but I got a lot of parts and tools for watches. Sadly few people are learning how to repair watches anymore.

Wow! That is almost exactly like my alarm clock. I was very upset it broke. No one else was.
