AL QAEDA TARGETS VEGAS

Las Vegas has been revealed as Osama Bin Laden's number one terror target.

Al Qaeda terrorists posing as tourists compiled a detailed dossier on America's gambling mecca, according to a top secret intelligence report. Videos and photographs of a string of landmarks and major hotels were sent back to terror bosses plotting a spectacular sequel to the September 11 attacks.

The security report - marked "restricted" and circulated to U.S. and coalition intelligence agencies - was drawn up by British intelligence agents following the arrest of 21 Al Qaeda operatives. It says: "Based on intelligence, Las Vegas is seen as the prime target for a major impact attack."

It explains later: "It would be the mainland 'spectacular' that we have been hearing about for some time.

"Information indicates that any attack would be multicentered at several sites and probably take the form of explosive devices.

"Las Vegas represents all that is wrong about the West and so symbolically represents, to them, the ideal choice of target. This elevates it to being probably the most likely target in our assessment based on what we have learned recently."

It mentions gambling, prostitution and drinking as being among the Vegas staples "abhorred by Islamic radicals."

The Al Qaeda research was said to be "very professional." Details sent back to terrorist planners include floor plans, positions of security cameras, any searches carried out, the timing of traffic light changes and placing of road humps, to help gauge the plausibility of escape routes.

Homeland Security sources in the U.S. denied there is currently a heightened security threat to Las Vegas.

Sorry, this 'target' is too low level for the likes of Osama... poison the water supplies of, say, New York, or Boston, or drop a bomb into the middle of a busy rush hour commute, or release poison gas onto a gridlocked Los Angeles at the morning rush hour- now THOSE are targets Osama would love to hit. THEY would have an effect.

photos, I must have missed somewhere about the Enquirer being such a "right wing Christian" paper. Here in Minnesota the ones that are pushing and passing all the non-smoking laws are on the left. I have never smoked cigarettes in my life, enjoy a good fine cigar on occasion, but think it is wrong for a government to say that a business owner can not allow smoking in their establishment when it is something that is not an illegal activity. Guess what, I go to casino's too! How I spend my money on what I consider entertainment is no different I think than going to the movies. The Enquirer is just trying to boost it sales by playing to peoples fears.

I never said it was a christian newspaper. and you're right, minnesotabrad, papers like this are playing on peoples fears.. and emotions. I just get cranked sometimes at what gets people cranked... when 9/11 occurred, many of the inmates at the prison where I work cheered when the planes went into the buildings. I reminded them that if Osama won & came to this prison, he would line up those same cheering fools & shoot them, because they are stupid, they are criminals, & his brand of religion certainly wouldn't include them.
In this area, it is the 'christians' who are getting out in droves to petition the State legislature to continue to prevent BEER SALES IN CONVENIENCE stores. And BEER & WINE being sold in SUPEMARKETS (where CHILDREN can see this???) No way! It was not all that long ago that Pennsylvania had the 'Blue Laws", whereby one could do very little on a Sunday, and certainly could not go to the supermarket to purchase anything, because they were not allowed to be open, nor could one shop at department stores or discount stores or most any other kind of stores, because stores were not permitted to be open on Sunday. Please understand, I'm not knocking Religion, I'm knocking nuttiness, whether it is on the far right or the far left.
