Default Cell Replacement - Looking to outsource the job to a member

I am preparing to recondition a family heirloom machine for a new customer, and after looking at the machine in person, I noticed that the cell is cracked and needs to be replaced. I don't feel comfortable using someone else's machine as my "guinea pig" since I have never attempted a cell replacement before. Therefore, I thought I would see if there is a member here who has done a few and would be willing to do the job for me.

I will remove the playfield from the machine, as well as all ornamentation, pockets, spinners and such. All I would ship would be the plywood backing with the ball track and nails attached. All you would need to do is remove nails and ball track, replace cell, then reinstall ball track and nails and ship it back.

If you have experience with cell replacements and would like to make a few bucks on an "outsourced" job, send me a PM with your interest and we can go from there.

    Thanks!

    Jeff

    Hi Jeff,
Do you happen to know what year this machine is from?
PACHISLO - Sammy SPIDER-MAN 2; PACHINKO - Sankyo Star Wars , Sankyo Julie,
MAME - CLASSIC ARCADE 3 - 4 Player Entertainment Center
PINBALL - Bally Transporter, Williams Grand Lizard

My best guess is 1964-ish, based on a very similar machine I worked on last year and was able to date. I don't think my customer is set on matching the original cell. He is more interested in being able to play the machine.

I hope someone has stepped up to the plate. I'm surprised that no one has taken the job as I know there are many qualified members. Please post a pic of the results if any takers.

Sorry that I haven't updated this post. I received several PM's from interested members and I did "hire" one to do the job. I promise to post "before" and "after" pics once the cell is replaced.

As a side note, the existing cell is much too faded to see/match the patterns and colors, so the customer has elected to use a pre-made cell from Rival's website.

Just for the record, that one is a 1968. The 1967 has two "seashell" style lights, the 1966 has the more triangular ones, the 1965 has the round lense for viewing the jackpot balls, and the 1964 has the two yellow reflectors on either side of the payout tray and a green "go" light in the upper left.
