I don't know who made this vintage machine or when.

My real question is the center feature appears to be a gate, which is sweet but broken.
Think it probably opened and closed appropriately.
Does anyone have pictures of a similar center feature that operates?

The year is 1974. Those tags are definitely the ones used in 1974.

The make? Shot in the dark would be a Sanyo due to the stripe on the overflow tray, a common feature on later Sanyos. But there are dozens of other possibilites. I don't recognize the GM logo, and I doubt it was made in detroit.

Anyone have a pachinko machine with the letters "GM" in the upper left corner?

Yeah I might have to agree with you there. The back parts look to be sanyo. But many other smaller companies liked to use sanyo and nishijin parts. Can you post a close up pic of the label on the bottom of the tulip. I'm interested in it. sometimes those labels can possibly give you a better idea. I have never seen that GM logo. This one kinda stumps me. Any pictures of the back? And do you have an upper tray?

    100 machines and counting...
