Did a night check on everything, and noticed some of the little ones have back legs! Sorry guys, they're not for eating.

With temperatures dropping, it's time to bring in the Pleco. He's grown from 2" to 8" over the last 5 months.

Would love to see a pic of your whole pond. How deep do you have it to keep it from freezing or getting too hot?

Don't know how I missed this post... must have been a victim of a "mark forums read" click. Sorry about that Rita!

Here in NE Florida, the pond won't freeze, or get too hot. I built it a size that was convenient and wouldn't require a lot of digging. It's 2' deep at the side, and 2-1/2' deep in the middle.

This picture is from last year. It's bare right now until new pads come up.

Anyway... I spent the afternoon dividing the lilies.

They all started as single plants last year. The purple/red one had 6 new tubers, and the peach had 9. The purple/blue tropical didn't survive the winter. Didn't expect it to since the temp. gets too cold. Nice while it lasted, though.

Anybody who's a member of Pachitalk and would like a lily. All you have to do is come and pick it up. BYO container!

    Spoiler

In other news, the lotus are making a strong comeback, and all have multiple leaves. With such early growth, I'm hoping for lots of flowers!

    ~Update~

The blue tropical lily I thought was dead is making a strong comeback. It has about 10 floating leaves. Should start blooming soon with temps hitting the 90's. The peach and the purple are doing well, and the purple has bloomed once.

The lotus are out of control. For something that started as a single seed last year, they have completely taken over their pots (which are 18 gal tubs!).

While feeding duckweed to the fish I noticed the middle lotus has it's first bud. Can't wait to see what color the flower is. It's supposed to be blue, but growing from seed can have unexpected results.

Put the pleco back in the pond a couple weeks ago. I think he celebrated by having a growth spurt. Must be 9-10 " now.

The lotus bloom opened yesterday. I think the guy who sold me the seeds is color blind. Strangest shade of blue I've ever seen.
