Default UK vendors or any UK Pachi sources of any kind?

Well I haven't been on this forum since 2006... Amazing really. I'm currently looking at getting a new pachinko or 3, my previous most recent purchase being Yellow Cab in July 2006, a nice machine :-)

My main challenge is- are there any vendors in the UK? On ebay UK currently there is just one Japanese company selling at crazy high prices, so apparently the UK STILL hasn't heard of pachinko, even in the Information Age we are living in... It seems that US vendors are the best source. It amazes me that even now pachinko is unkown in this country. Very odd.

Back in the late 90s I bought a machine from Gameroom Warehouse in the US, but they don't seem to be in business now.

Are there any UK pachi fans here? Where do you get your machines and parts from?

    Any advice gratefully received! Thanks.

I brought my cutie honey last year direct from Japan using Kiai @ eyeproducts. Took 2 months to get here and delivered to my office near Luton. But I choose the cheap option and had if sent by boat not flown. Plus you get a larger choice of machines on Yja.
Will probably do the same thing for the next modern I get.

Don't forget to try dragon-fly website. As they ship to the UK

I was just thinking the same thing myself Pinball - but would it be financially viable to start selling machines in the uk?

When I joined PachiTalk back in 2006, I used to have no problem buying pachinkos and pachislos from a couple of vendors that were based here, the main problem I had was choosing which one to get!! But times have definitely changed and those UK Vendors have given up.

A while back I was offered an opportunity to try myself at the pachinko trade,
I was seriously contemplating it at the time, but there is so much more to it than just sourcing machines and I very much doubt it would be financially viable,

So these days I buy from eBay and PT friends when something really appealing is for sale, and funds permit

    Angie ...
Pachinkos, Pachislos, Coffee, Papercraft Ninja, Pinball

I ran away with the Steampunk Circus!
I was hiding in a room in my mind...

To be honest i have been toying with the idea for a little while myself. My friend started up a retro console selling company. Imported over £3k worth of stock. Some got stuck in customs, some got damaged and in the end he made a massive financial loss!

Any specialist market will always have problem with stock. No matter what you have in stock, tthe customer will always want one you haven't got. Then warranty issuses.
Plus there have been a few auctions on ebay in the past year of clearance pachis from companies that folded/ closed down. I was thinking about importing 10,000 balls and selling 8,000 on. Or going halves with someone.
Can't get to my pc at the moment. Its in the babies room.

    Yellow cab is awesome

OK. I can't get a breakdown of expenses (yet) but the total amount paid to eyeproducts was 38105YEN. This includeds the 14000YEN to buy the machine its sell. 1000YEN for a new packing box to ship to UK.
So costs for internal shipping, shipping to UK via ship and comission is 23105.
38105 YEN is approx £284 plus £54 import duty and taxes. Plus £40 for a 12A 240-24vac transformer

Was £380 to much to pay for Cutie Honey. Maybe, But here you don't have a large field to pick from.

Not such a bad price for getting a machine you actually really want, and as you say there is limited supply in the uk so its just pot luck! Thanks for the info DrunkenClam

It would have been too much a couple of years ago when they were available for around £150, but I don't think any of the current owners are willing to part with them, so it's simple supply and demand. I think an offer of around £300-400 might have got a few of the owners to consider it though. (I'd have thought about it for a bit, and then politely declined the offer ).

I keep thinking of importing a pallet or two and starting my own Pachinko retail business over here, but I'm not sure the UK market as a whole is willing to pay prices that are going to have to be in the £200-300 range. Especially when there are still quite a few pachinkos from the importers that shipped in full containers that are still in circulation (and only fetching £50-£80 when they turn up on eBay).

As you say. Supply and demand.
The thing is, how many Cutie Honey are there in the UK, and when did the last one come up for sale

The only sensible way with limited risk is to order in advance and not hold stock, But then the customer will have to wait.
Rather than holding 3 sea story in stock cause everyone want Tank Police.

Anyone though about cataloguing Uk pachis. Not owners names or location, just volume. I wonder how many starwars are actually here, It seems to be the one that comes up for sale the most in the past year.

Look at the pachis on ebay from other countries.
The Hanamankai will cost you £500 from Japan

Awesome number of responses- thanks! I just checked the thread again now, hence the delayed response from me...

I'll probably buy from the US then. I want to buy a modern recent pachinko to get the latest technology (i.e. full screen LCD and good light show, ideally with a movie theme), as I have several generations of machines. Yellow Cab (which I researched a lot before buying it in 2006) is a great pachinko with some nice music videos, presented in a solid cabinet. I also have the older PachiCom game "Love Couple" with a smallerLCD screen, and my oldest is a CRT-based game by Sankyo. I don't know the title, but it's a strange one- girls in bikinis come down a water slide, and occasionally their tops pop off, hehe.

    Hi there,
I did sold several machines to the UK, so I found it kind of weird that nobody here has pointed you to my website www.dragonfly-amusement.com ?were are located in the Netherlands so that`s much closer to your country as the US, shippingcost will be much cheaper and not VAT to pay when arriving

I`m just finishing my order, but if you need a certain title please tell me and if the price is right for you it can be shipped with my new order very soon.

    Thank you.

    Best regards
    Jan

I checked my old emails and discovered that the seller (incorrectly) called it Sankyo Waterslide. I bought it in 1999 and have hardly used it for >10 years so it's in great condition :-)

The girls in bikinis go down a waterslide, and as you win their clothes come off.

It was mentioned on the forums here before:

    http://www.pachitalk.com/forums/crai...m-atlanta.html

Actual name is CR Fever Beach (1995). I checked online and yes this is it:

    http://www.arcade-history.com/?n=cr-...etail&id=28500

    28500_1.png

When I received it, the CRT stem at the rear was crushed in transit, so the screen didn't work. However, I bought and installed a replacement CRT, and it then worked fine.

A great little game, and my first pachinko :-)
