May be a hoax... this was out a few days ago about Charlie Sheen... same resort.

Yeah, the Liveleak link was 2 hours old when I found it. Seems to me in this day and age, 2 hours is enough time for that to spread like wildfire.

I also noticed that the text in each account is identical. I either case, my apologies if this is a hoax. I hate to perpetuate that...

It's sad - we have several fatalities each ski season in the Colorado Ski Areas. Usually tourists that go out of control and hit trees. Last year there was an experienced a ski instructor who was wearing a helmut. He went over a jump, lost control and hit a tree. He died instantly.

I am not an avid skier, but I do ski once or twice each season. It isn't difficult for a novice skier like me to accidently get your skiis pointed straight downhill and speed out of control on a steep slope - I've done just that several times. I usually try to just fall over and slide to a stop. Sometimes the slopes are so crowded with people not watching out for others that you get run off the slope and into the trees by someone who is going too fast or doesn't see you. Several people here have been charged with reckless skiing when something they did on the slope caused a serious accident resulting in injury or death.

Skiing is a LOT of fun, but there are risks and you need to be really careful.
