    Default doa12's intro

    Greetings.

I'm in the midwest and tend to collect some electronic items, many because they are 'neat'.

I joined PachiTalk recently, mainly to see the pictures of people's pachinko cabinets. I have the tools but possibly not the gumption to build my own, even though they don't seem too hard to do. At the time I was looking for a new pachinko, which I have since purchased and it arrived today. I also ordered a transformer from a link found here. I'm not totally sure how to connect the transformer yet, but I'll get there.

I currently own a Speed Racer pachislo, an Indiana Jones pachinko, and the new one is an Avant Garde Love-Love pachinko.

The Speed Racer pachislo is on a welded table that you can find at Pier One, which works really well for it and I don't need to worry about the weight. It came with 500 dull looking silverish tokens, so I got a bunch of golden slot cherry tokens for it.

The Indiana Jones pachinko is in a case I bought for about $80 with shipping... from somewhere. I might have bought another if I could remember where I got that one. It's a nice black cabinet that has a ball holder on top and the balls fall to a decently wide drawer in front. It's sitting on an old entertainment center I used for my CRT TV. I ordered a large amount of balls, which is more than the machine can hold in its hoppers. I imagine I'll use some for the new machine.

I've found the different cabinet builds here interesting. I haven't poked around too much other than the cabinet area, and a quick search for transformers. I did just glance at the post about buying straight from Japan, and I did that through regular eBay, the shipping stated in the post was really close to what I ended up paying. ($380 shipping for mine) The earlier items I got were already in the USA and adapted to power here, so shipping was cheaper and they could be plugged in after they were unpacked.

Anyway, I thought I'd say 'Hello', so... hello!

    Welcome to Pachitalk
I'll post some of the Avant Garde when I get it running. I've linked the ad page there. I've not actually seen one running yet other than some tube videos.

The buttons light up but I can't tell if it is a separate screen or if the screen just 'falls through' to the LCD behind to display things. I'll know more once I get it powered. I picked up a 13amp grounded cord tonight, so in theory it's just connect the wires and turn it on. The trick is which wires connected to which!

This is the first I've seen with more than just an action/chance button, it has 4 directional buttons and a central 'Enter' button, in addition to the 'chance' button. So I'm hoping for more interactivity than my Indy. My nephew said he thought the video seemed like you were trying to sync your cell phone ring to the music. We'll see!

Ok, here's two more pics. I'm sure they aren't what you were hoping for, it's the transformer, that is 2 reds and a black on one side, and two blues and a yellow on the other. Then my cord that has black, white, and green. Green=ground, black=hot, white=neutral. I'm also guessing that is the power input on the machine since it kind of appears that way in the installation instructions. Not going to just throw the wires on until I have a bit more sleep though, and I've been low on sleep for a while.

Once it's all up and running I'll take a bunch of pics and likely do a movie. I doubt I'll be good enough to get a reach though. The machine came with a nice manual... likely in Japanese. Drawings, arrows, but... I can see the power in step 4.

It's as easy as 5 steps and on! Yup... Ummm... What was that again? Of course my transformer doesn't have the nice plug ready to snap right in. I think step one may be important, it's got text in red! But then 3 may be important too since it has a red exclamation point!

I tried glancing at ing777.com to see if I could find that page to translate as that appears to be where the manual came from.

It looks like the same type of play that my pachinko tenka getter hideyoshi has . When achance action hits ,you push the button and an image shows up on the cell phone. It may be a winning chance.

I'll have to put my thinking cap on to sort out that. transformer. Looks like two seperate inputs and outputs with shared common. with only one output common. I think you will use the two blue wires as output, Make sure you insult the yellow wire to prevent a short.

Then live to the two reds and neutral to black.

But I would prefer someone else confirms this. Maybe have your volt meter close to hand. Before connecting to the pachi

I'm not quite with it at the moment. I'm sure one of our experts will pitch in,

Sorry Mods for double post. I can't edit

I had to cut the nice plug off and join using terminal blocks, (My transformer came with them attached.) I assume the cord with Green, White and Black is the mains cord. (We use different colours here)
If so Black to Black. White to Red. You should also have a green wire in the back of the machine to connect to the green mains flex.

I think you are right about the wire connections. I think that transformer is adouble coil output. one side 12 volt . combine the two coils and you get 24 volt.
