Different kind of rescue

I found out today that we having flying squirrels in our back yard. Imagine my surprise to find 4 little babies!

My wife made a few phone calls and found a squirrel rescue about 8 miles away, so we took them there. The rescue folks said they have an excellent chance for survival. They're about a week old.

Only 3 made the picture, but all 4 were doing well.

i am guessing they might return them to the wild after they are old enough to fend for themselves.is there any chance they could release them back into your yard when they are ready?that would be cool.

I would love to have them released here, but I would imagine they will be released in different areas to ensure genetic diversity.

That reminds me of the Seinfeld episode where George ran over a squirrel and the vet made him take the squirrel home for rehab.
