Ok, there's other things there besides pachinko but I got your attention didn't I?

Anyway it time again for the Gardena Valley Japanese Cultural Institue Summer Carnival

As in the past I'll be there most all weekend manning the pachinko booth, Stop by and say Hi, I'll post pictures after the event, fun for all and a great chance to play some vintage machines.

The Pachinko Experience and JCI Carnival is over for another year so if you missed it

if you made there

otherwise I expect to see you there next year.

I started on Friday afternoon and put one of the newly arrived machines back in shape a vintage Sanyo that needed only a little cleaning, the picture was take before I cleaned the cell.

Also this year I took four of my own machines to add some excitment to the mix.

Freakout, Seven Flash, Pink Panther and Thunderbirds

Freakout - A 6 & 13 machine with a rotating win pocket and a 3 LCD match feature. A couple of players got into the sweet spot and were able to shoot the ball into the rotating win pocket with regularity hitting 50-60% on some occasions. A father and son pair were doing this for a couple of hours until the son got bored and wanted to play another machine.

Seven Flash - Classic Electro-Mechanical Slot Reels, got alot of plays, it was pretty cool watching the little kids bypass Pink Panther and Thunderbirds and go right for this machine. A tough machine until around 5pm on Saturday when it broke loose with one fever and a couple of teasers but in typical slot fashion it took all the winnings back in short order. Sunday it allowed one more fever and teased quite a few players.

Thunderbirds - No Fevers all weekend but it did attract a lot of play from the Adults that remembered it from when they were kids. Alot of kids played it too

Pink Panther - The Pachinko Gods smiled kindly those brave enough to play this machine. Saturday 1 Fever, Sunday 4 Fevers all within 30 minutes of each other and all to the same player. Sundays fevers started about 5pm and by 6:30 the big winner was passing balls to all his friends so that they were all gone by our 7:30 shutdown.

Overall a great turnout and it seemed many more players were picking up multiple bags of balls.
