Wink ACCC force eBay to change Paypal arrangement - AUSTRALIA

The Australian Consumer watchdog here has just forced eBay to change their rules on Paypal usage after a 2 year investigation and lots of pressure.

Australia has long been a test bed for eBay USA to see what they can get away with, for hopes they can export their ideas to other markets.

Seems they (eventually) lost out on this one...

between ebay listing fees, final value fees and paypal fees It cost me 15 to 18% of each dollar on a sale

if its something i got cheap at Goodwill thats ok with me but for items i paid more for resale isn't that good a profit.

That's why their overall turnover is shrinking and their share price is in the toilet... the moves to force out the little guy, and the enormous fees they are having to pay, is starting to wear thin on the very people who built their business up.
