    Smile Just got a Kiwame

Just got one of the 2001 Kiwame machines and it has already wow'd me as my first Pachislo machine.

In fact, I have decided to use this as my test-bed for modifications, I got it in great condition from a guy for a mere $100, which was pretty good since most of them run for ~150-200 and up.

I love the extra 3 reel bonus rounds it has, it makes things quite fun. However, one thing that I intend to do is interface this machine with an actual computer to control some of the things (I may even overhaul the entire gaming logic to the computer via an I/O card).

I know the ROMs on these machines are locked down tight for obvious reasons. I may try to do a software based auto-stop, not sure yet.

I am loving the game and loving the help and advice you guys and gals are giving! I look forward to poking around here.

I plan to post pictures after I get out some polish, though! I've been tinkering internally with this thing for a good while.

The Kiwame is a great machine! Vary under rated and I don't know of to many members with one. You will most likely have to set it to 1 or 2 or it will go into bonus vary often. I would hate to see you experiment on it though! There are allot of low end machines. Do enjoy it. I have two of them. Liked it so much went back to get another just so I had one on hand to help with the addiction. I would like to ask if yours has a lot of scratches and ware on the flat part above the stop buttons.

I see you are new, Welcome to Pachitalk!

Thank you all so much for the warm welcome! I love the machine.

With regards to my modifications, I am not doing anything really to the ROM chip. In fact, I am going to bypass most of the logic that way it doesn't destroy the board or any components.

Thank you VERY much for the graphics for the machine. That is the most media I have been able to obtain on this machine! However I am looking at getting an older pachi machine possibly for modifications instead of the kiwame. However the machine is very neat to play. The bonus rounds are very frequent if you have it on anything above a 3 or so, so I will be tweaking.

That play guide info looks like it came out of a book. Do you have these play guides new in town?

    Hiya!

    Welcome to PachiTalk!!!

Yes, I think it might be wise to get your hands on another machine to tinker with first, especially if you are really liking the Kiwame. Of course, we'll want to hear every detail of your modifications!

Lazarus, I did some digging and that information above came from the images posted on pachislodb.

I will keep any and all posted on my modifications. The machine is in good condition, the top plate (above the stop buttons) has a little bit of rub, but I think I can get that out fairly easily as none of the scratches are deep at all.

I am going to really clean this puppy up and get it to shine before I take some pics.

Thanks, i need to do a bit of cleaning though soon. I look forward to getting more of these! My next one I want an LCD though, so if you know any at a good rate, let me know! I love the interactivity of those LCDs. I may even consider a pachinko machine.
