Nishijin Super Dx Ebira - First Buy

I will have pics up asap. This is my first buy and I didn't think the price was too bad, so I went for it. My problem now is trying to find out just what the heck it actually is. I can't find any other Ebira machines out there in my searches. It has a date code of 50 and I'm pretty sure it's an A model. It came with over 250 balls with various parlor stamps. The machine was refurbed at one point by "Gaming Intl in Dallas, TX" all the lights, springs and returns all work perfectly. The glass isnt scratched or damaged and the frame is in decent shape. I paid $40 for it, so even if it's not worth it, I'm not out a whole lot. It has all the original stamps and certification stickers still on it also.

Any addt'l info would be appreciated and yes, isn't it a pain in the kester when newbs post up without pics !!

I've since given it a little closer look and I'm happy to report that I've found no bugs or any icky stuff. There is a sticker on the back that says Sophia and has a large #5 on it also. I am fighting my camera/computer connection at the moment, as soon as I gain the upper hand, pics will be up.

u might consider standing it up a little straighter in its case.. there is lots of talk about how much lean a machine should have but yours looks to be leaning back quite a bit..

Ebira is what is marked on the jackpot spot. The Ebira is a mytical Japanese Goliath Lobster from a 1960's movie.

Nice machine! That same model had been on e-bay recently, sold for over $150 (but I think it was a B version). In any case, $40 is a great price!

now that u point it out i can see how the cabinet is made... looks to be a nice caninet..

over half of the vintages i have seen dont have anything printed on the jackpots like your thats cool

Having spent the better part of an hour playing on it today, I'd say that I'm quite pleased with my $40 purchase. I'm going to clean up the cabinet and give the glass and metal a good cleaning and then I'll be in business. Once I emptied the machine of all the balls, I think there are closer to 450-500 total. I didn't realize just how many the machine held inside of it. Good thing I did this procedure over a carpeted area, because once my catch tray overfilled, there was no way I could catch them all in my hands.

Let me know if anyone else out there has ever seen the Ebira theme; I'm curious to see if I can find a clip or copy of the movie anywhere out there too.
