ebay cabinet vendor

hi guys.

just assembled two cabinets from this vendor. looks like he can make stands for pachislos or free standing pachinko cabinets, too.

I ordered the wall cabinet with feet, unassembled, and got a discount for ordering two. the usual wall cabinet price is $125 shipped, plus feet.

it's good quality birch plywood. the router work is very good on the holes. the angled wood at the bottom took some figuring out (I didn't have a picture of the inside), but it works great. I'm thinking to leave the little door off the bottom front, but it's another nice feature on the assembled ones.

also, the funnel at the top is nice work. it has many compound angles that would have taken me a couple hours to figure out - not to mention lots of wasted wood.

by dad, who's done lots of woodworking, thought it was a very fair price and said he wouldn't even make them for me at that price.

here's some pic's of the assembly. I plan to clear coat with polyurethane, since the birch surface wood had a very nice grain.

(btw, I don't know this guy at all)

only caveat was that the width was 1/8 inch too tight for my sanyo machine. I think my nishijin's, which are the ones that will go into the cases ultimately, are a tiny bit narrower. if you have a sanyo, might want to assemble the case around the pachinko frame, instead of having to whack it in there later. where's the mallet?

I believe he may be a member here. There was another guy making great cabinets quite a while ago with the name ebayb840. The name is very close. I know in the past, this particular seller was praised a bit for his work.

here are a couple more pix. I hadn't figured out what to do with the extra triangle of wood, and the seller brenda and brian, emailed me the answer.

this makes the balls roll out really well.

there were a lot of well thought out details in this design.

here's pix of the little door in place. bought a self closing kitchen door hinge so it keeps the balls from falling out.

now, I just have to wait for the rain to stop, so I can clear coat the cabinets.

p.s. I kinda goofed on this one and left a gap at the edges where balls occasionally fall through. used 2 cardboard strips to close the gaps.

A year ago I bought five of their pachinko cabinets and they gave me a discounted price on the five. Unassembled all five fit in two larger boxes and came through fine. I think if you talk with them about your needs they will take care of you and offer a good price including shipping! Good Luck... He may hire someone to help if he needs to do a larger order. They do wonders with wood and better than I could ever do.
