Default First pachinko: help with volume trouble!

    Hi,

I just bought my first machine from slot-pachinko online, a Sammy brand Gamera pachinko (not a pachislo).

slot-pachinko pre installed two volume controls which work perfectly on the upper two speakers but there is another insanely loud speaker(s) somewhere down at the bottom.

So why don't I just add another volume control just like slot-pachinko did for the top 2?

Because I can't see the speakers from the back, so I don't know how to get any clue about which wires connect to the third speaker(s) .

    1) Is there any way for me to find out which are the speaker wires to that speaker?

    2) Do these recent Sammy Pachinkos have a loud/soft ajdjustment switch somewhere?

    3) Is there an online manual somewhere for Sammy pachinkos?

    4) I see a small black rotary adjustment on the very bottom right, it is on a circuit board just above the transformer. I wonder what that does?

Thanks for any help with any of these

Otherwise this machine is an unplayable white elephant (only because it's too loud!)

Put a few layers of duct tape on the speaker grill till you can ID the wires. It will quiet it down a bunch and you will be able to play it now...

Thanks, I'll get some masking tape for a first layer and use messy duct tape over that for now.

As for IDing the wires, either I can or cannot. I'm not optimistic about that.

slot-pachinko.com has been offline it makes 3 days now...

i agree with stuffing as many lawyers as possible in there.

i dont have that particular machine but you should be able to trace the wire and snip it or install another Lpad on that speaker.

slot-pachinko is down. i wonder whats going on there.

"i dont have that particular machine but you should be able to trace the wire and snip it or install another Lpad on that speaker."

But I need to see the speaker in order to find out which are the wires connected to it, so I can snip it or better yet pot it. I can't see the speaker. And do not know how to safely disassemble the machine to where I can see the speakers.

By the way I built my Heathkit FM tuner and stereo amplifier, hundreds of little parts to the construction. And own and use a Triplett Volt/Ohm meter from time to time.

But when it comes to this pachinko, I could stare at all the wires on back of it for a hundred hours and never get a closer to knowing which ones are the two speaker wires. I have no clue how to begin to find that out.

open just the glass on the door, you will see a latch by the bottom of the cell that will release the bottom part of the door.
the speaker and wiring may be visabe there

Well there is a latch on the back which allows the whole machine apparatus to swing out of the wooden frame.

There must also be a way to release just the glass door, but I don't see how.

The seller (slot-pachinko) had taped a half inch square paper onto the front glass panel that had written on it: 'open glass door', which wasn't helpful and their manual did not mention opening only the glass.

Look at the rear of the machine directly behind the lock for a metal "armature". Work the armature (push it down) and the front glass should pop open.

A pic of the machine with the location of the loud speaker would help. If you open the front of the machine, you can trace the speaker wires easily. Don't do it from the back of the machine.

    Thanks for the help guys.
Finally I found the glass door release (takes an ice pick or small screw driver to manipulate, pretty well hidden).
After that the rest was easy.
    Speaker found!
Volume pot was already installed by the seller slot-pachinko.com (800 Ohms, linear taper).
I did pay for the top 2 speaker pots, but they put in 3 and only charged for 2.
Volume is now adjustable from hard to even hear it all the way to ear damage.
    Thanks, all for your patience

Yep, glad it is straightened out.

By the way, I've been inside Nevada casinos and their rows of slots do not make this much racket. No ear plugs needed.

Well, except for the jackpot siren which I suppose probably also alerts a house IRS agent.
