Default Yet another project - X1 Pocket Bike

I found this at a garage sale for $20 and couldn't pass it up. It had about 10 hours on it and besides being really dusty and a few scars, it looked brand new. The first photo is what it looked like when I brought home.

I used Krylon Fusion paint and lost of elbow grease, sand paper, gunk out carb cleaner and now she's looking a lot better. I have located a windscreen and the two lights I need and will have them by end of week I hope.

My plan is to add some strobes and a siren as well. Pretty cool eh?

    Hey Shock, what'cha think?

    Those things legal down there?

I've got a stand up scooter with a 40cc engine - Bladez 40, added a bigger carb, juicebox, tuned exhaust, better handlebars and an extra fuel tank. It'll do 30 with me (big guy). Have to park pretty far away at some of the larger truckstops and when you gotta go, it gets you there pretty fast. The handlebars fold down for storage and the verticle tube (now horizontal) makes a convenient carrying handle.

Back in the 70's my dad made some Min-Bikes and my brother and I were in charge of the testing dept. Then he sold them and we were sad, but then he made more and we tested them some more.
Didn't even have a helmet back then. Oh those were the days.

While the pocket bikes are legal (at least this one isn't) I'm just running around our subdivision.

And yes, Jim, I have the intention of selling it soon.

These bikes are fun, but a bit unstable to the averate rider and certainly not stable enough for my kids to ride. While I'm not so worried about their hurting themselves (that's part of life) it just when these bikes get laid down they tend to shatter all the body plastic thus rendering your $300 bike to a $20 bike.

But, it is a fun ride!
