    Default info of dmc3 settings etc

    I got my devil may cry 3 today!! I'm very happy with it

    now, I got an instruction sheet with it which is a generic one and doesnt actually cover my machine fully, can someone tell me what the two switches on the right of the power box are for? and all the reset button on the box does is make the led below it come on.. how do i do a full reset of the game?

    also, if anyone has an original japanese devil may cry 3 pachislo manual I'd be interested in buying it

    WOW I am glad someone is interested in finding out more about these games we own and how to change some of the settings. 1 thing I like about owning things is the ability to learn more about them. If we had a manual we could figure out how to get into setup mode and what ALL those switches do on the pachislo. Sorry I can't help with the ones at hand, but I am very interested in finding out more about our machines and how they work. Playing them is just half the fun, finding out how they work and what makes them tick is the other half of the fun. The people that work on vintage machines love to tinker with them, I think we all should have the same fun on our newer pachislo's. I know the saying from some of the old timers, if it aint broke don't fix it, but hell I want to know more about these machines and how they are programmed, and what all we can do to them to change the way they play. Who is with me on this, or am I only in this thinking?

    You just asked the two most common questions in this forum. Check out FAQ in the research center or do a search. both these topics have been answered hundreds of times.

    stinger, I'm definately with you mind you I'm fresh from the vintage collectors community

    chrisdice, I'll check the faq, but I really think the two most common answers to my two most common questions would have been just as easy to type as your post was

    looking at the faq now, I dont see answers to anything i asked.. all i see is a website faq, nothing to do with the machines.. what are you trying to point me at? devil may cry doesnt seem to be common on these forums..

    Just did a search too, I really cant find any posts telling me what those switches do. I dont know what other machines have the same power box as me, I've been a pachislo owner for 6 hours now, theyre a different beast to my arcade games, I'm no pro in any respect.

    there was background music during regular play before, there isnt now.. it might be the way the game is, im not sure, but it also might be that I changed some settings by accident.. I really want to know how to set things..

    sorry for the second post, i'm outside my edit time limit..

    chrisdice, I found the faq youre talking of, and the reset procedure there does NOT reset my machine, I can change the difficulty and switch the key back and it resumes right from where i was.
    I did find the function of the switches though, theyre alot less useful than i thought they might be..
    I didnt even know the faq was there before, I only saw the forum faq.

    Cool, glad your happy with the DMC3!

    Two switches on the power supply:
    - One requires a soft reset at the end of a bonus.
    - The other pays out all credits at the end of a bonus.

    For these switches in most cases off is in the down or right position. The Chinese characters for off and on are:

    無 = off

    有 = on

    did you hold down the spin knob? It should work, reset procedure is basicly the same for all machines. I've had a gamera and a Popeye (same as DMC) and the reset is the same.

    HOW CHANGE ODDS and reset machine:

    "TURN YOUR MACHINE OFF FIRST"

    1. Locate internal key switch, and insert key.
    Note: In order to change odds, machine must be in idle mode with no tokens/coins or credits being played and off.

    2. Turn "reset" key switch to on, to access programming mode.

    3. Turn on machine now.

    4. Depending on machine type, a number from 1 to 6 will be displayed on one of the LED meters on front door.

    5. Locate and push Skill button. Depress button and notice movement of number being displayed in LED meter.

    6. Once desired level is displayed (1 to 6), push down on play handle (Joy Stick) for 10 seconds, to lock odds level into machine memory.

    7. Turn "reset" key back to off.

    8. Machine should immediately initialize. If not, turn power switch to the OFF position, wait 15 seconds and turn power switch back to ON position.

    I've got an instruction manual written up by someone and it doesnt say that, I'll try it tonight. the skill level changes happily without holding it so I figured I was doing it right.

    ok tried that, it does exactly the same as if i just press the spin lever.. i dont get a full reset at all. it follows the instructions fully except it resumes it's game position, it doesnt reset.
    what other ways are there to reset? is there such thing as a reset to factory settings? or is that what that reset is?
