Spin Luck Error Code FE

Putting the SL through it's paces tonight, and hit so many SL's the the hopper empted; of course, that gave me the HE error code. I opend it up, put more coins in the hopper, closed the door and turned the key to the left, so I could continue, but then I got the FE error. I emptied the hopper again and turned the key and all seemed well, so I put the coins back, and again with the FE error. Can someone tell me how to fix this? Thanks to everyone.

Did you try a Full reset?

Turn the machine off, turn the key on the power suppy, press the button on the power supply (top button) to set the odds from 1 = least Payout to 5 = highest Payout, hold the spin knob down for 5 seconds, release and then turn the key back with the machine still on.

I keep the two slide switches to the down position so the remaining credits after a Big Win do not dump into the token Tray.

I do not remember what an "FE" code is.

obviously you have a token across the over flow hopper pins or a short between these wires. dude you have had NO luck with this machine,I feel bad for donating $ to get it for you! maybe you should just go ahead and send it to me?

LOL!!! I sure do thank you for that donation!! Even with the few things that have gone wrong on it, she is still a joy to play when she's working. Your offer to take her off my hands, is only out of concern for me, I'm sure The only way I will give it up is when they pry my cold stiff fingers from the spin knob!!!

Here is what I think is the FIX Fighter Pilot if you have not done it already.

Pic 1 shows the Token overflow tray sensor

Pic 2 shows me throwing an FE code by putting a coin up against the sensor.

Pic 3 shows the 3 wire harness from the sensor to the power supply. (Red arrows)

Pic 4 shows the plug on the power supply you need to disconnect to disable the sensor and the possible shorted 3 wire harness.

Pic 5 shows My Spin Luck throwing a FE code after I put the Token in front of the sensor.

After I threw the FE code all I had to do was turn the door lock key to the left to clear it. Since yours will not reset either the 3 wire harness has shorted, (probably behind the mount for the main hopper) or the sensor is faulty.

Try un-plugging that 3 wire plug on the power supply and then power it up and turn the door key to the left.

Let us know what happened.

At lease it plays the "Nice MuZAK" when it throws the FE code and not a Siren.

No lucky, it isn't working yet, but I will try what New In Town said to try, and see what happens. I will do that at some point today and let you all know what happens. Thanks very much!!

Had the same FE when the hopper was empty. I had to reset machine.

Ok, I just followed the instructions that New In Town was so kind to post, and the Spin Luck is up and running again!! I didn't lose the game I was in the middle of, or the five SL's I have in the spin stock!!!

Seeing as this fixed the problem, does that mean I have a shorted wire harness? or will it be ok in the future? THANKS to all who responded!! and THANK YOU New In Town for taking the time to post instructions that even I could follow!!!

Glad to hear it's back up and "Spinning" ! ! !

Either the Wire Harness is shorted or the sensor is Faulty. Seeing that you do not have an overflow Tray, (do you?) I would just leave it un-plugged and all will be Well.

If you wanted to find out if it's the harness or sensor you could reconnect the plug into the power supply and disconnect the other end at the sensor.

If the "FE" comes back the harness is shorted somewhere. If there is no "FE" code then the sensor is bad.

Either way no matter which one is faulty as long as you leave the plug disconnected going into the power supply, you should have no further Problems.

That's what I love about this place. There's always someone who can help. I dont think i've ever met such a large amount of wonderful people, and all on one forum.
