You don't see the glass parts come up for sale usually, and there are 3 available,
that's got to be worth snapping up for anyone with those type frames

    Nice Find!!

Just out of curiosity, I have heard people putting in plexi as a replacement for broken glass..Isn't the glass almost a half inch thick? where would you get plexi like that and would'nt it have to be machine to exact size to fit that black ring?

    Always wondered...

You can get 1/2" plexi at your local plastics supply, or on e-bay (bought a quarter sheet there, cheaper than our local place). All you would need to do is make a plywood template, and use a router to cut out the shape.

On all my machines, I have both Plexi and Glass as originally designed. On all 4 of my machines the plexi was either missing or scratched or chipped and none had glass.

I simply take the piece of plexi that came with the machine down to Lowe's where they cut me a piece of their medium strength plexi and their standard 'window' glass to the same size. Then I take both home and slip them into the door. The machines work great with these pieces and having the Glass reduces the noise some what and gives the machine a more 'professional' appearance. For each machine it cost me about $24 to replace both pieces.

It does appear that the original glass and plexi was a bit thicker. Due to the fact the galss is on the outside it doesn't affect game play. I have also found the thinner plexi makes no difference. I did have one machine where the balls would get caught between a spinner and the plexi, but this was due to the combination of the spinner nail had a down angle and the outter door latch was loose. I straighten the spinner and adusted the latch and it works fine now.

    Just offering my thoughts!

on modern pachinkos the glass is in a removable double pane sealed frame so if the glass gets broken it is easier to replace the entire thing. I have seen a thread around here someplace talking about having the glass replaced in one for a lumina frame (I don't remember where )

on the vintage pachinkos it is as easy as sliding a new cut to fit pane into the rails in the door
