Default What do you guys do with your pachinkos?

Before I came to this Board, I thought I had some sort of rare disorder. Happily, I've found that I am in good company with a bunch of you. After my aunt gave my 1970's Nishijin B Jaws/Shark Hunter machine to Goodwill (as I've said, I hate her), I have now bought a total of 9 machines in 8 months. I'm sick, but at least I've found sanctuary with you folks.

While I've restored 1, and have 2 others in significant states of renovation, it has occurred to me that once they are all "done", I haven't the room to display them all...I've identified at least 3 and maybe 4 that I will not likely keep, but it is my obsession to restore them first. What am I going to do with the ones I decide not to keep? I dunno...

It appears that several folks on this Board are picking up superb deals (free or a pittance of $10-$20) on many of these old machines...what are you doing with them? I'm just curious, because if you are like me, space is limited and unless you've got a killer basement or no wife, most houses just don't have room for more than 3 or 4.

    183? Seriously? Vintage? Modern? Mixture?

I suppose I can't say too much...I've got tons of sports memorabilia that is sitting in boxes...only recently have I realized that I've had some of this stuff for 2-3 decades, and it hasn't seen the light of day in years.

Do you guys ever trade or sell amongst yourselves? I don't know...it seems a shame to take these machines out of somebody's attic, clean it up, and then store it in your basement. That said, I suppose that its all part of the addiction.

Gotta' go check ebay for newly listed machines...be back in a while.

Anything with a * is a recovery from Arbycoffee and the Cedar Rapids flood. So far 10 have been restored to working order.

I'm in the process of selling my newer pachinkos. Anything in my album marked "for sale" is available. If you're looking to buy a newer vintage, take a look and let me know which one you're interested in.

I look at is as being the curator of a museum.
You locate something from an earlier time, preserve it, and exhibit it.
I have room to have 3-5 out at any one time, sometimes a few more if I move somethings around. I have room to store many more than that. So I put a couple out to play, when I get tired of one I put it away and bring another one out.

I have almost all of mine out all of the time. I have 26 machines. I have a few in storage right now, but 19 of them are in various rooms of my house. I have 11 in my front room, 3 in my kitchen, and 5 in my living room. I am in the process of buying 2 more machines. I'm single so I can get away with having machines in every room of the house. If I was married they would most likely be in the garage, storage, or gone.
