    Default LOTR Speaker problem

Hi guys.. i have made a video of my problem and put it on youtube, as it easier to describe in words and sound.

What i was going to say at the end (before the camera cut out) was that ive traced all the wires to the sound board (i think).. and theyre all in ok.
(oh, and it was doing this BEFORE i glued the sound control back in... so it wasnt that, that caused it)

If the two plugs for the speakers are near each other and you can "Swap" them. Do so and see if the problem moves to the other speaker. If it does the problem might be in the sound board. If not I would say either the speaker or volume pot is bad.

If you can jump a wire across the volume pot that would take it out of the equation. If it still cuts out the speaker is toast. If not and it does not cut out the pot is bad.

Thanks for the advise.. i have done what you said and swapped the speaker wires over, and the sound still worked (and it didnt burst into flames lol), so im gathering i did the right ones (are the two plugs for each speaker blue and green and connected with a red and white wire??)... and the problem stayed with the left hand speaker.. so im thinking its the speaker thats bust.

Can you explain what you mean by the "Pot", and "speaker or Volume Pot" please.

Oh, and if it is the Speaker, how would i go about getting a replacement.. its only when i have the volume up just past "Quiet" its goes all funny... so is acceptable... but id much rather have it a little Higher... Thanks

That is exactly what has happened on several of my machines just as the pot was starting to go out. I think your volume controls are going bad. Make sure the volume control pots are turned all the way up, and see if it still does it. You may have to bypass or replace the pot on that side.

    Congtats on the troubleshooting.

What I wanted you to do is bypass the volume control (Pot). If you can jump a wire across the two leads on it, then that is taking it out of the circuit (bypassing it). If the speaker still cuts out then the speaker is bad. If the speaker now works then the volume control (Pot) is bad.
